Industrial Visit of M.Sc. Chemistry students of Ewing Christian College, Prayagraj to Mccloi Quench water purifying and mineral water bottling facility in Kanheti, Dist. Prayagraj on 04.04.2025

About 42 M.Sc. Students and 8 faculty members of Department of Chemistry, Ewing Christian College, Prayagraj visited this facility.

National Science Day 2025 was celebrated by the Department of Chemistry, Ewing Christian College, Prayagraj on February 28, 2025.
Dr. Kamlesh Pandey, Senior Scientist at National Centre for Minerology and Petrology Research, University of Allahabad delivered a very informative and interactive lecture on “Battery”.

As part of celebration of National Science Day, the department had also organised two competitions viz. Chem-Rangoli and Chem-Quiz competitions for UG and PG students. Dr. Kamlesh Pandey and faculty members gave away certificate of achievement and participation along with gifts to all winners.

Prof. Sharda Sundaram Sanjay, Head, Department of Chemistry welcomed the Guest Speaker and other guests and students. She also highlighted the importance of organising such events and programs in the department which are for the over all growth and development of the students. Prof. Justin Masih, Bursar and Controller of Examinations, ECC proposed the formal vote of thanks. Dr. V. Mushran, Dr. S. Sahai, Prof. V. Bhadauria, Dr. K. K. Tunguska, Dr. E. Samuel, Dr. M. Karunakar, Dr. Abhinav Lal and all guests lecturers of the department were present for this program.

जिज्ञासा शोध करने का प्रथम चरण है : प्रॉफ़. मिश्र

इविंग क्रिश्चियन महाविद्यालय एवं राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान अकादमी भारत, प्रयागराज के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में ईसीसी के रसायन शास्त्र विभाग में दो दिवसीय कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें प्रयागराज के क़रीब 20 इंटर स्कूलों के रसायन शास्त्र के चार विद्यार्थियों एवं एक एक शिक्षक को आमंत्रित किया गया था । कार्यक्रम के संयोजक ईसीसी के प्रॉफ़. जस्टिन मसीह ने बताया कि इस कार्यक्रम को आयोजित करने का मूल उद्देश्य विद्यार्थियों के मन में रसायन शास्त्र के प्रति जागरूकता पैदा करना एवं एक नई जिज्ञासा पैदा करना था । रसायन शास्त्र विभाग की अध्यक्षा प्रॉफ़. शारदा ने सभी अतिथियों एवं विद्यार्थियों का स्वागत किया और सबके आने के लिये धन्यवाद भी दिया । उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान अकादमी भारत, प्रयागराज को मुख्य रूप से कार्यक्रम के आयोजन में सहयोग करने के लिये धन्यवाद भी दिया । मुख्य अतिथि प्रॉफ़. कृष्णा मिश्रा जी ने विद्यार्थियों का उत्साह वर्धन किया और रसायन शास्त्र के अध्यन के द्वारा शिक्षा एवं तकनीकी के क्षेत्र में खुलने वाले कई नये रास्तों का बयान किया जिससे विद्यार्थियों को आगे बढ़ने के कई नये अवसर प्राप्त हो सकेंगे । राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान अकादमी भारत, प्रयागराज से आई डा. पवित्रा टंडन ने ईसीसी रसायन शास्त्र विभाग के एवं महाविद्यालय का इस कार्यक्रम को आयोजित करने के लिये आभार प्रगत किया । महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्य प्रॉफ़. अरुण मोज़ेज़ ने ईसीसी रसायन शास्त्र विभाग के सभी शिक्षकों एवं शोध छात्रों की इस नवीन सोच के लिये बधाई दिया और कहा की ऐसे कार्यक्रम विद्यार्थियों के मन में विषय के प्रति एक नई सोच को पैदा करने में सहायक सिद्ध होते हैं जिससे छात्र विषय के प्रति रुचि लेते हैं और उसको अद्धयन करने का प्रयास भी करते हैं । इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय के रसायन शास्त्र विभाग के अध्यक्ष प्रॉफ़. दिनेश मणि ने भी सभी आयोजकों के धन्यवाद दिया और कहा कि इस तरह के कार्यक्रम विद्यार्थियों में एक नई सोच और नई ऊर्जा का संचार करते हैं । कार्यक्रम में प्रॉफ़. विवेक भादौरिया, प्रॉफ़. कुसुम लता पांडेय, प्रॉफ़. अशोक पाठक, डा. यू. बी. सिंह, डा. मुश्रान, डा. क्रांति, डा. करुणाकर, डा. एबेनेज़र, डा. आदित्य, डा. प्रेरणा, डा. ऐश्वर्या तथा अन्य शिक्षक उपस्थित हुए । औपचारिक धन्यवाद ज्ञापन डा। क्रांति ने किया एवं कार्यक्रम का संचालन डा. अभिनव लाल ने किया । कार्यक्रम का समापन राष्ट्रीय गान से किया गया ।

The electrical fittings in the Chemistry Department are being revamped and refurbished for safety, performance and convenience.

The Department of Chemistry, Ewing Christian College organised a One Day Seminar on the topic “Scientific Project Writing and Presentation” on 08.02.2024 from 10:00 AM onwards. Dr. (Mrs.) Shikhi Sahai, Head was the Convener and Dr. Justin Masih was the Organising Secretary of the seminar.

The Chief Guest for the inaugural session was Prof. Dinesh Mani, Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Allahabad, Prayagraj. The purpose of organising this program was to educate the post-graduate students and research scholars about how to plan, prepare, write and present a research project, research paper and review paper. Dr. (Mrs.) Shikhi Sahai, Head, Department of Chemistry, ECC welcomed all the guests and students and highlighted the major student-centric activities being organised by the department. She also thanked all the guests for coming. Dr. Justin Masih, Organising Secretary introduced the theme of the Seminar and highlighted the importance of learning the know-how of writing and presenting a research project, research & review paper.

The three sessions that we conducted were:

1. Writing a research project, research & review paper - Dr. Justin Masih
2. Surveying Literature and learning the importance of citation - Dr. Kranthi Kumar Tungala
3. Basic skills of making and presenting a PowerPoint presentation - Dr. Abhinav Lal

Dr. Vineeta John, Registrar, ECC was the Chief Guest of the valedictory session who gave away participation certificates to all the participants.

75th Republic Day Program in Ewing Christian College, Prayagraj.

Woollen Coat distribution program for all Class IV (Government and Self Financed) staff members on the occasion of 75th Republic Day by the College Administration.

Department of Chemistry conducted the 17th edition of the One Day Seminar organised by the students and for the students on Friday November 3rd 2023 from 9:30 am onwards. The title of the seminar was “Nano-Sciences: Modern Applications”.

Dr. Justin Masih was the Convener of the seminar and Dr. M. Karunakar was the Co-Convener of the seminar. The entire academic program was conducted under the leadership of the Head of Department Dr.(Mrs.) Shikhi Sahai.

Dr. A. S. Moses, Principal , ECC was the Guest of honour and Dr. Omer Mustafa Hasan, Cardiologist and Director, Allahabad Heart Center was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr. Mushran, Dr. Sharda, Dr. Bhadauria, Dr. Ebenezer, Dr. Abhinav and others were present for the function.

About 220 UG, PG and Ph.D students of ECC and other colleges participated in the seminar. There were Four oral sessions and One poster session in which about 40 articles based on the topic were presented and one best paper was adjudged from each of the sessions.
