The Department of Anatomy, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), marked a strong academic presence at SOCACON 2026, the World Congress of Clinical Anatomists, held at NIMS University, Jaipur.

The 14th International Conference of the Society of Clinical Anatomists (SOCA), themed “Integrating Clinical Anatomy with Imaging and Artificial Intelligence for the Next Generation,” brought together experts, researchers and students from across the globe.

Faculty members and students from AMU actively participated as delegates, presenters and session judges, contributing to discussions on recent advances in clinical anatomy, imaging and technology-driven learning.

Prof. Farah Ghaus chaired a scientific session, reflecting her academic leadership in the field. Among the notable achievements, Dr. Midhat Muttaqui, Senior Resident, received an award in the best paper category for her presentation on histopathology, while Dr. Parbin (Junior Resident) also secured a best paper award for her work on gestational diabetes mellitus. Dr. Viswani (Junior Resident) was awarded in the best poster category for her research on folliculogenesis.

The conference provided a valuable platform for international academic exchange through workshops, scientific sessions and panel discussions.

Prof. Fazal Ur Rehman, Chairperson, Department of Anatomy, congratulated the participants, noting that their achievements have strengthened the department’s academic standing at the global level and will contribute to excellence in teaching, research and clinical practice.

AMU Fine Arts Students Selected for Kochi-Muziris Biennale

ALIGARH, December 3: Four students from the Department of Fine Arts, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), have been selected to participate in the prestigious Kochi-Muziris Biennale, marking a notable achievement for the University’s art community.

The selected students include Zara Malik and Zoha Sajid Azmi (MVA, 3rd semester), and Arshaan Khan, Haris Raza, and Sharmilli (BVA, 7th semester). Their participation in one of India’s most celebrated contemporary art festivals will provide them with significant national and international exposure.

Dr. Abid Hadi, Chairman, Department of Fine Arts, said the selection reflects the creativity and commitment shown by the students. He added that it is a proud moment for the department and expressed confidence that such recognition on a global platform will further inspire young artists at AMU.

The Kochi-Muziris Biennale, renowned for showcasing innovative and influential works by artists from around the world, will run from December 12, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
