The Department of Industrial Chemistry at Aligarh Muslim University recently hosted a Pre Placement Talk, organized by the American Chemical Society, International Students' Chapter (ACS ISC). The event, held on April 3, 2024, featured insightful discussions aimed at equipping students with the necessary skills to excel in interviews and enhance their professional profiles.

Chairing the event was Dr. Shahab AA Nami, who delved into various strategies and hacks to qualify the interview round successfully. Dr. Nami's expertise and guidance provided invaluable insights into navigating the interview process effectively, ensuring that students are well-prepared to tackle any challenges they may encounter.

Dr. Mohammad Zain Khan, Faculty Advisor of ACS ISC AMU, delivered a comprehensive overview on crafting impressive CVs, resumes, and cover letters. His detailed presentation offered students practical tips and best practices to showcase their skills and experiences in a compelling manner, thereby increasing their chances of securing desirable employment opportunities.

Mr. Mohammad Abubakar Khan shared compelling insights into the benefits of joining the American Chemical Society, International Students' Chapter. Through his presentation, students gained a deeper understanding of the numerous opportunities and resources available through membership, further enriching their academic and professional journey.

The program was skillfully conducted by Mr. Zaeem Ahmad Khan Sherwani, ensuring a seamless flow of discussions and engagement among attendees. Lastly, Ms. Ayesha Fatima presented the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and attendees for their participation and contributions towards making the event a resounding success.

The Pre Placement Talk served as a platform for students to gain valuable knowledge, hone essential skills, and network with industry experts, preparing them for future career endeavors.

Empowering Future Chemists: American Chemical Society, International Students Chapter Hosts Pre-Placement Talk at Aligarh Muslim University

Aligarh, India - March 23, 2024 - Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) witnessed a landmark event as the American Chemical Society, International Students Chapter hosted a Pre-Placement Talk aimed at guiding the career trajectories of BVoc and MVoc students. The event, held on March 23, 2024, featured esteemed speakers Dr. Mohammad Zain Khan, Coordinator of BVoc and MVoc courses, alongside faculty members Dr. Rizwan Hussain and Dr. Mohd Shuaib Akhtar.

The Pre-Placement Talk provided a platform for students to gain invaluable insights into the realm of chemistry careers, equipping them with essential knowledge and guidance for their professional journeys. Dr. Mohammad Zain Khan, with his wealth of experience, offered practical advice tailored to the needs of the students, emphasizing the importance of strategic career planning in the dynamic field of polymer sciences.

Joining Dr. Khan were esteemed faculty members Dr. Rizwan Hussain and Dr. Mohd Shuaib Akhtar who shared their expertise and perspectives on various career paths available to students pursuing BVoc and MVoc degrees. Their enlightening discussions delved into emerging trends in the industry, as well as the skills and competencies essential for success in the competitive job market.

Another highlight of the event was the talk by Mohammad Abubakar Khan, Secretary of the American Chemical Society, International Students Chapter at AMU who elaborated on the numerous benefits of joining the student chapter.

The program, meticulously conducted by Mr. Mujtaba Abbas. Mr. Zaeem Sherwani concluded the event with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and participants for their contributions to making the Pre-Placement Talk a resounding success.

The International ACS Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society at AMU in association with Traning and Placement Office (General) organises "CV Writing Workshop" on 31st October, Tuesday at 2:00 pm with the theme of "Your Passport to Professional Success"

The resource person Dr. Muzammil Mushtaq Assistant Professor of the Department of Library & Information Science and Assistant TPO at AMU. During the session he enlightened the students to prepare an effective CV and some important point one should consider while preparing it. He emphasised the requirements of relevant skills for the job you are applying for. A good CV lands you in a reputed organisation.

Mr. Saad Hameed in his address talked about facing interview. He also advices the students to be prepared as opportunity comes to those who are prepared.

Dr. Mohammad Zain Khan, Faculty Advisor of the ACS Chapter AMU stressed upon the needs of such workshop like personality grooming, CV writing and facing interviews. He apprised the attendees about the placement of students of Industrial Chemistry in Vedanta Group, Fujaira UAE, Poly Org Haridwar, Food Processing Company, Gujrat. Moreover students of Industrial Chemistry secured admission in PhD at the University of California Davis and Albourg University, Denmark etc.

The program was conducted by Ms. Ayesha Fatima and Mr. Juned while Ms. Khushneda Jabin proposed the vote of thanks.
