Govardhan Puja is a festival which is usually celebrated a day after Diwali. It is observed to celebrate the victory of Lord Krishna over Lord Indra. As per the popular legend, Lord Krishna protected the people of Vrindavan from the wrath of Lord Indra. Govardhan Puja is also known as Annakut Puja.

This day is celebrated in South India by some different rituals. People wake up before sunrise prepare a paste by mixing Kumkum in oil, symbolizing blood and after breaking a bitter fruit that represents the head of the demon King that was smashed by Krishna, apply that mixture on their foreheads. Then they have an oil bath using sandalwood paste.

Today we all bid goodbye to the class of 2021. As the principal of this college, I am very happy that you have successfully completed your years at this college.
