The Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2 Akhnoor perched in the salubrious snow-capped foothills of Kalidhar Range of Mountains, has the mighty river CHANDER BHAGA washing its shore on Jammu-Poonch highway. The Vidyalaya that started as a Primary School in 1986 in temporary huts of HQ 10 Infantry Division, with only 200 students, now embraces one thousand students in its fold.The Vidyalaya prepares its students for services and responsibilities in Nation Building and to foster deep faith in democratic and secular ideals. Horse Riding, Swimming and Net Surfing is being provided to our students by the local Army Division. Our qualified and talented staff is being regularly trained and updated by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Central Board of School Education (C.B.S.E.) and National Center for Education Research & Technology (N.C.E.R.T.) for innovative technique and action research, a small step indeed but a big leap forward to achieve excellence.

Hello Everyone

Is there anyone who would like to volunteer for actively posting updates about the school? Actually, I was a student here, but that was around 15 years ago. I made this page so that anyone searching for their old friends/classmates/teachers could find them easily (only if they were already on this page, obviously). I hardly have anything to post.

As such, this seems like a deserted page. If anyone among you is willing enough to regularly post at least something informative about the school, that would be very nice and bring this page back to life. Your post can be as simple as a photo of the school. Or you could post some news/updates about the teachers/students/functions/awards etc. I mean anything related to the school is fine. One post every weekend or every 2nd weekend will be enough.
