Participation of students of the department in LCOY15, India held at Shantivan, Mt. Abu Road, Rajasthan made them understand various factors leading to environmental degradation and climate change.
Mt. Abu in Aravalli Ranges has its own ecological importance for keeping India away from desertification which must be given a special attention at the times when the mountains and hills in Rajasthan are disappearing for trade of marbles and other minerals. Specifically for urbanisation. Source: India Environment Portal; Deutsche Welle (DW) The disappearance of India's Aravalli Hills; Indian Express " Assault on Aravalis"

15th edition of Local Conference of Youth, India, from 2nd Nov - 4th Nov, 2019.
A Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) is an event of YOUNGO, the official youth-constituency to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
It is a national version of the global COY, which takes place right before the Conference of Parties (COP), the annual UN Conference on Climate Change. As an official LCOY, the aim is not only to educate people on climate issues but also to prepare youth to participate in the global COY. This will provide a setting for participants to connect to the global COP, to learn about UN processes, and to share their own voices.

____ LCOY 15 ______
Local Conferences of Youth (LCOY) are events by YOUNGO, the official children and youth constituency to the United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change. Nine students from the department of PPLG attended the 3 day conference from 2nd Nov - 4th Nov, 2019
LCOY organisers bring the annual climate negotiations to their home countries and make sure that words are turned into action. At LCOYs, young people connect to each other, teach, learn, and organise themselves to make their voices heard to our state leaders. LCOYs form a network in which youth can connect across borders and explore ways to collaborate on a regional and global level.
