Peak Adventure: The Pangarchulla expedition

This May, fifteen Mayoites, guided by two staff members, scaled the mighty Pangarchulla Peak (15,500 ft) and crossed the legendary Kuari Pass (12,500 ft) in a high-altitude adventure that tested every ounce of grit and the indomitable Mayo spirit.

Battling steep climbs, thin mountain air, and unforgiving terrain, the boys mastered navigation, outdoor survival, and responsible mountain stewardship while living the true spirit of "Leave No Traces.”

From classroom learning to Himalayan summits — the Mayo "josh" stood tall above the clouds.

Trail-tested. Summit-proven. Ready for the next horizon.

Over three days of intense debate, Mayo College’s Inter-House MUN (July 17-19) brought diplomacy and brilliant young minds together.
With 500+ speeches and three unanimous resolutions, delegates elevated our debate culture through rigorous research, respect, and true consensus-building.
Huge congratulations to Jaipur House for emerging as worthy winners, and to all organizers and delegates! The gavel has fallen, but the habits of inquiry and mutual respect will endure.

Life Skills | Week 2

Different questions. Different ages.

Grades IX & X worked on goal setting.

Grades XI & XII explored The Fork Ahead—making crucial choices about subjects, careers and the future.

Grades VII & VIII explored strategies on moving from Worries to Hope.

Grades IV–VI traced the story of money—from barter to value, understanding needs and wants.

Two hours of activities, discussion circles, collaborative tasks and conversations that don't fit neatly into a textbook.

13 July | Flag Assembly

For over a century and a half, the Flag Assembly has welcomed generations of Mayo boys back to school—a solemn tradition that marks the beginning of every term.

This year's Flag Assembly saw the recognition of outstanding Grade 10 CBSE and IGCSE scholars with the Scholars Badge, the introduction of new members of staff, and the coming together of the Mayo community to begin another high-octane term with a prayer and the Pachranga hoisted proudly over the Main Building yet again.

In keeping with Principal Saurav Sinha's passion for character development, Mayo College has launched a new Life Skills programme under his guidance, designed to make our boys more sensitive, and prepared for the world beyond the classroom.

Running every Saturday, it is built around three strands: wellbeing, where boys understand their volcanic emotions; personality development that probes the softer architecture of confidence; and financial literacy, the practical grammar of money.

No worksheets, no one-way lectures. Children opened up, and so did the teachers. Turns out the moment you put the chalk down, everyone has more to say.

Building Better Coaches. Developing Better Athletes.

From 8–10 July, our Sports Department joined the Dani Sports Foundation for a three-day Capacity Building Workshop, bringing all our coaches together to sharpen their craft—from athlete-centred coaching and sports science to strength & conditioning and talent identification.

Our thanks to the panel: Dr. Oleksandr Krasilshchikov, Adnan Syed, Dr. Himanshu Verma, and Varun Sharma.

Invest in the coach, and you invest in every athlete they'll shape. 🏅
