Our little Saplings celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm. They learned about the Indian National Flag, its colours and their significance, participated in fun craft and activities, and explored the spirit of our nation through engaging classroom experiences.

Independence Day Celebration at Sapling Activity Centre

On the auspicious occasion of 15th August, the children of Sapling Activity Centre – Evening Classes were taken to the park for a special Independence Day celebration.

The celebration began with an informative session where our teachers shared interesting facts about India, our national symbols, and the importance of Independence Day. The children were encouraged to understand the value of freedom and their responsibilities as young citizens of our country.

The children then participated in the National Anthem with great enthusiasm and respect. This was followed by various fun and engaging activities, including games, group activities, and interactive learning sessions.

It was a beautiful blend of patriotism, learning, fun, and togetherness, giving our little saplings a memorable Independence Day experience. 🇮🇳✨

🌿 Today’s Learning at Sapling

🔢 Number Beads Counting
Children practised counting using number beads, developing number recognition, counting skills and one-to-one correspondence.

🔤 Alphabet Revision
We revised A–Z alphabets through fun and interactive activities, strengthening children’s alphabet recognition and recall. 🌈✨

Our Little Saplings Meet the Divine Shiva 🔱

* ॐ नमः शिवाय – Explained that it is a beautiful prayer/mantra offered to Lord Shiva.
* Lord Shiva – we Introduced Shiva as a symbol of peace, kindness, strength and calmness.
* 🐍 Snake around his neck – Vasuki – Vasuki is the name of Shiva’s snake.
* 🌊 Ganga from his hair – we Explained that the story simply: the holy river Ganga is shown flowing from Shiva’s matted hair.
* 🥁 Damru – Introduced Shiva’s little drum, called Damru, and let children listen to and imitate its sound.
* 👘 Shiva’s dress – we Talked about his simple appearance, tiger skin, rudraksha, trishul and crescent moon.
* 🌙 Chandra (Moon) – The crescent moon on Shiva’s head.
* 🔱 Trishul – Showing the three-pronged trishul and explain it as one of Shiva’s important symbols.
* 🐂 Nandi – Introduced by teacher that Nandi as Lord Shiva’s beloved vehicle and devotee.
* 🕉️ Shivling – Explaind respectfully that the Shivling is a sacred symbol of Lord Shiva and is worshipped with devotion.
