About us:
Mizoram Food Processing Research & Training Centre or MFPRTC in short, is anautonomous body under Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Mizoram.The centre is established with the financial assistances from Export Development Fund(EDF), APEDA, Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Govt of India.
1. The main objective of this project is to establish and set-up a state-of-the-artinf
rastructure facilities for delivering systematic knowledge of food processingtechnology.
2. To provide "Hands-on" and “Handholding support” services through the trainingcentre.
4. To impart various entrepreneurship and skill development training programmes,diploma courses, Certificate courses and including extension services on foodprocessing to Self-Help Groups and villagers.
5. The centre is proposed to take up development and up-gradation of traditionaltechnologies to increase the efficiency of food industries.
6. To take up optimum efforts in basic research related to food additives and preservatives, micronutrients, food toxicity and safety, food microbiology, enzymaticand molecular biology, bioactive substances and food packaging development of foodproducts.
7. To process various agro produces like Ginger, Turmeric, Hatkora, Pineapple, Soya,Bamboo shoots, Iskuts and other agricultural produces available from time to time.The processed items shall be sold for the sustenance of the Centre.
8. To have direct and indirect impacts in regards to generation of employment for theunemployed youths of the state.
9. To set-up Common Facility Centre (CFC) for micro-food processors and farmers. Facilities:
We have installed the following infrastructural facilities at the MFPRTC premises:
1. Post-harvest management training equipments & machinery
2. Food research and testing equipments & machinery
3. Cold chain management and grading facilities
4. Food/Fruits processing and packaging machinery
5. Ladies/Gents Hostels for residential training purposes
6. Library with a huge collection of food technology books
Affiliations:
MFPRTC is registered under Mizoram Societies Registration Act 2005 bearing registration no
792 of 28.11.2016. We also have FSSAI registration bearing 21817102000001 of 12.01.17. We have also registered the institute with PMKVY, National Skill Development Corporationunder Sector Skill Council, Food Processing, Govt of India.
