Aizawl City College was set up in 2015 with the initiative made by the then Higher & Techinical Minister, to cater to the need of growing demands, the likes of which had never been experienced before. Consequently, Aizawl City College was given the permission to begin it's functions followed by permissions from MZU and affilliations of various departments and recognition from UGC. The School Department has also issued permission to open evening classes in JL School premises. The College has 18 regular teachers with wide variety of expertise. They are young, energetic, efficient and more importantly, they are able to learn new things. They welcome change and progress. As a result, Aizawl City College is evolving.

LIBRARY
Aizawl City College have opened a new library with good and cozy interior. It caters not only to the college's academic requirements but also stocks enough books for reference and books on general awareness. The library subcribes 6 journals of each subjects offered by the college to add further scope for learning. It also subcribes to leading dailys' of national and regional.

Establishment Section
The College have separate rooms: the Principal's office and the establishment section.

Teachers' Common Room
The College provided one big room alloted to teachers for preparing for classes, interact, and for learning new things.

Class Rooms
There is plenty of classrooms to accomodate atleast 900 students.

Campus.
Aizawl City College has acquired land in Folkland, Zemabawk.

Future Prospect
Aizawl City College has a bright future prospect. Many local authority showed interest and offered land to set up the college or part of the college in their locality. The college may be set up in these localities in the future.

Aizawl City College has completed its 4th year of operation. After completing the 5th year it will eventually become permanently affiliated to MZU and thus becoming entitled to various grants from UGC, RUSA etc.
