*Die empty*

One of the most beautiful book to read is "Die Empty" by Todd Henry.

The author was inspired and got this idea of writing this book while attending a business meeting.
When the director asked the audience: "Where is the richest land in the world?"
One of the audience answered: "Oil-rich Gulf states."
Another added: "Diamond mines in Africa."
Then the director said: "No it is the cemetery. Yes, it is the richest land in the world, because millions of people have departed, "they have died" and they carried many valuable ideas that did not come to light and benefited others. It is all in the cemetery where they are buried."

Inspired by this answer, Todd Henry wrote his book "Die empty" where he did his best to motivate people to pour out their ideas and potential energies in their communities and turn them into something useful before it is too late.

The most beautiful of what he said in his book is: "Do not go to your grave and carry inside you the best that you have. *Always choose to die empty*

The TRUE meaning of this expression, is to die empty of all the goodness that is within you. Deliver it to the world, before you leave

If you have an idea, perform it.
If you have a knowledge, give it out.
If you have a goal, achieve it.
Love, share and distribute, do not keep it inside.

Shall we begin to give and spread every atom of goodness inside us.

Start the race.... *Die Empty*

Why Good Trainers Matter
The Mentor's wishes all a very happy teachers day.
There are so many ways to access information now. Any time we have a question, we whip out our smart phones and do a fast search. Within seconds, we find the answer and review supporting information. As the line between knowledge acquisition and skill development blurs, it may seem as if all that matters in talent development is providing accessible content. But take a moment and ask, "What is it trainers do that no other training tool can replicate?" Here are a few answers to that important question. Trainers and facilitators:
 Challenge assumptions
 Probe for deeper meaning
 Facilitate collaborative discussion
 Support reluctant learners
 Guide discovery learning
 Encourage peer-to-peer problem solving
 Give feedback on emerging skills
 Validate and reinforce new behaviors
 Inspire commitment and action
 Celebrate new habits and behavior change
 Build the organizational learning culture

Despite the prediction in the late 90's that instructor-led training would be replaced by eLearning, studies show that most organizations continue to rely heavily on trainers in both the face-to-face and virtual classroom settings.

There are big differences between the decisions we make by intuition, and those we make by logical analysis.

The logical part of your mind (the part you are aware of) can analyse problems and come up with rational answers. It's excellent at solving problems, but it is slow and needs a lot of energy. If you have to solve a demanding problem while walking, you will probably stop because your analytical mind can't focus on both tasks simultaneously.
Your intuitive mind on the other hand is fast and automatic. It's very powerful, but hidden and is responsible for most of the things that you do, think and believe but you have no idea this is happening. It is your hidden auto-pilot, and has a mind of its own.
Your intuitive mind is normally in control, efficiently dealing with the myriads of decisions we have to make each day.
Mistakes occur when we allow our intuitive system to make decisions that we should allow our logical mind to deal with.
These mistakes are called cognitive biases. They make us spend impulsively, be influenced too much by what others think and affect our beliefs, opinions, and decisions.

Leadership / Feedback Giving

Make Feedback Feel Normal

Let’s face it, giving and receiving feedback can be uncomfortable !
To make it easier, you don’t necessarily have to get better at saying the exact right thing; you just need practice.

Step 1 :
If you see someone doing something they can improve, offer your observations right away !
Don’t wait until your next meeting to provide your input; give it in the moment.
You want as little time as possible between identifying and discussing the problem.

Step 2 :
After you address the problem, offer a “patch up” to help them know that you respect them.
Your ' motive ' behind this feedback-giving is important .
If they know that you’re trying to help them and hold them accountable, they are less likely to push back.

A group of 100 people were attending a seminar. Suddenly the speaker stopped and started giving each person a balloon. Each one was asked to write his/her name on it using a marker pen. Then all the balloons were collected and put in another room.

Now these delegates were let in that room and asked to find the balloon which had their name written, within 5 minutes. Everyone was frantically searching for their name, pushing, colliding with each other, and there was utter chaos. At the end of 5 minutes, no one could find their own balloon.

Now each one was asked to randomly collect a balloon and give it to the person whose name was written on it. Within minutes everyone had their own balloon.

The speaker began: This is what exactly happening in our lives. Everyone is frantically looking for happiness all around, not knowing where it is. Our happiness lies in the happiness of other people. Give them their happiness, you will get your own happiness. And this is the purpose of human life.
