As part of our innovative out-learn teaching methods, we recently took our students to Vateshwar, one of the beautiful tourist attractions in North Gujarat, located in Siddhpur. This historical site is steeped in the rich heritage of the Mahabharata, marking the location where the Pandavas visited, planted a Banyan tree, and installed a Shivlingam, giving the place its name, Vateshwar.

Our students were particularly fascinated by the Suryakunda stepwell, a remarkable structure where the Sun God is depicted with seven horses, symbolizing the seven days of the week. This visit provided an enriching learning experience, blending history, culture, and mythology, and underscoring the importance of experiential learning in tourism education.

To revive this heritage legacy, we initiated a project on the last World Water Day with .magazine . Kapil Thakar, Founder of Atulya Varso, guided us on the importance of Heritage Conservation and Water Conservation. With the support of our students, NSS scouts, and the local community, we cleaned and illuminated the 200-year-old helical well at Halisha Village.

The transformation was breathtaking, and we are committed to continuing our efforts to revive this beautiful heritage site.

As part of our immersive learning approach in travel and tourism management, we recently took our students on a historical visit to Dalpatram Chowk. Here, we celebrated the enduring legacy of the great Gujarati poet, Shri Dalpatram, whose remarkable contributions to Gujarati literature continue to inspire.

During our visit, we explored the historic house of Dalpatram, which tragically collapsed during an earthquake. However, thanks to the proactive efforts of the local government, a replica of his house was constructed, along with a living statue of Dalpatram himself.

Beyond his literary achievements, Dalpatram also worked for girl child education. Today, local children affectionately refer to him as 'Dada,' meaning Grandpa, and gather at his house during their free time.

This poignant example underscores the transformative power of community-led initiatives in heritage conservation. It serves as a testament to how heritage can become an integral part of community identity through collaborative efforts.
