This is an authentic page to share all updates and events of HLCAA. HL has contributed a lot in shaping our lives both at the personal and professional levels.

HLCAA : The idea of forming an association of past HL-ites stemmed from the desire for fellowship and the pull of an emotional bond with the college where we as students spent the crucial years of our lives. It was at the H L that we the HL-ites were moulded to take on the challenge of the real world that awaited us. Therefore we were asking ourselves how we could best serve not merely our Alma Ma

ter but society at large. It was the sentiments that led to the founding of the HLCAA (The H.L.College Alumni Association) in April 1989. Shri Hemant Shah became the founder president of the Association and Dr.R L Sanghvi, the then principal of the HLCC, the First Chairman of the Association. Shri Hemant Shah, well supported by his team members, set the ball rolling.

🎨 HLCAA – KalaCool invites you to participate in a creative and fun-filled Pipe Cleaner Art Workshop conducted by Deepa Dixit & Team.

📅 Date : Saturday, 8th August, 2026

🕧 Time : 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM
(Followed by Hi tea)

📍 Venue : Room No. 5, HL Campus

💰 Fees : • Registration fee of ₹350/- for HLCAA Members, Spouse (& their Children) & Students of HLCC / Ahmedabad University.

• Guest Fee: ₹700/-

• Children above 18 years are considered Guests.

✨ Fee includes High Tea and a Pipe Cleaner Art Kit worth ₹500 (inclusive of pipe cleaners, teddy bear making items, keychain, glue, and other craft materials).

In 1958, one of the greatest cricket all-rounders of all time, Sir Garfield (Garry) Sobers of the West Indies, actually played a match on this exact HL College Ground!
The West Indies team was touring India and played a 3-day warm-up match against the Board President’s XI right here at HL.
The news cutting proudly mentions that local Indian bowling legend Jasu Patel managed to get Sir Sobers out caught for just 37 runs.
