'સ્વર પ્રતિષ્ઠા સંગીતાલય' દ્વારા ગુજરાતના આદિકવિ અને ભક્ત શ્રી નરસિંહ મહેતાની બહુ જ સુંદર કૃતિ 'મહીડા મથવાને' અત્રે પ્રસ્તુત છે.
આ રચનામાં બાળકૃષ્ણ લીલાનું ખૂબ સુંદર વર્ણન છે. યશોદાજી જ્યારે માખણ કાઢવા માટે દહીં (મહીડું) વલોવતા હોય છે ત્યારે એક વખત શ્રી કૃષ્ણ એમને કહે છે કે તમે બીશો નહીં, મહીડું હું તમને વલોવી (મથી) આપીશ. આ સાંભળીને બ્રહ્માજી અને શિવજી સહિત સૌ દેવી દેવતાઓ ગભરાઇ જાય છે. સૌને એ સમુદ્ર મંથન યાદ આવે છે જ્યારે ભગવાને મેરુ પર્વતનું વલોણું કર્યું હતું, તે વખતે નીકળેલું વિષ શિવજીએ પીધું હતું. આ વખતે જો ભગવાનના વલોવવાથી વિષ નીકળશે તો કોણ પીશે, એ વાતને લઈને સૌ દેવી દેવતાઓને ચિંતા થાય છે. આવો અદભૂત ભાવ આ કૃતિ-રચના-ભજનમાં પ્રસ્તુત છે.
The blessed and renowned saint-poet from Gujarat, Narsinh Mehta, describes beautifully through his composition "Mahida Mathva ne" how Baal Krishna offered to help his mother, Yashoda churn butter causing all the deities from the heaven fear the consequences remembering the episode of "Samudra Manthana"(churning of the ocean) from the "Vishnu Purana". A very Happy Janmashtami to all!
