Counselling

Children can learn affectively and successfully only when they are mentally healthy and fit. At SJIS, we also take care of their psychological health and growth and assist them in overcoming their emotional and behavioural problems. Our Counselling Department works with teachers and parents to address children's psychological, academic and interpersonal problems. The counsellors at the School are experienced professionals with a degree in psychology or post-graduate qualification in school counselling. They work with children of all age group from nursery to 10+2 and their parents.

The Counselling Department's work includes:

Activities like

In today's times, when "Environment Protection" is a glaring global issue, SJIS sensitizes its students towards the environment by involving them in activities that help save the natural order of our earth. We create projects for children to learn, understand and spread awareness towards environment protection

In the month of January, students of SJIS organize Save the birds Campaign every year to spread awareness about the harm caused by kite strings to birds and commuters. They do this by enacting roadshows and showing films to people.

Celebrating Eco Friendly Holi by making Organic colours. SJIS has developed educational tools to teach children simple ways of making their own natural Holi colours and as a part of Entrepreneurship Curriculum they sell the organic colours. The students spread the words of ill-effect of the usage of chemical colours to the society during the rally.

Class Rooms

Infrastructure For Cbse English Medium School In Ahmedabad.Large, airy and well lit classrooms provide the right ambience for effective learning. Every classroom has charts, graphs and globes to make children understand subjects better. The LCD screens and projectors keep children's interest alive in the subject. It helps the teachers to present information using multi-media and digital images. Light furniture allows the classroom space to be flexible to different teaching strategies.

Hostel Facilities

SJIS hostels are a very friendly living space for students that helps and motivates them to have a cheerful and happy stay. Cleanliness and hygiene are maintained and the natural surroundings add to the charm. Open air auditorium, meeting corners in the gardens and a open air canteen provide the much needed recreation while on campus.

Library

Our inviting and well stacked library helps children discover the joy of reading. The extensive libraries boast of a number of fiction and non-fiction books, children books, comics and student magazines. An extensive reference section in the libraries helps students work on multi-disciplinary projects. Our libraries also have access to the internet facility for students and teachers.

Laboratories

Every child loves to experiment what he / she has learnt in the classroom. At SJIS, we have well-equipped laboratories for primary, middle and senior classes. The Science, Mathematics and Computer labs are well equipped to help children in conducting various activities that strengthen their conceptual understanding. The computer lab is well equipped with latest state of the art computer hardware and software that enables the students to connect globally as well has provides access to the internet for research and information seeking.

Canteen

The School Dinning Hall is a place where students relax and enjoy a few light moments along with wholesome food. Junk food and aerated drinks are not allowed in the canteen. Dinning Space is supervised by the staff and periodic checks are undertaken to ensure hygiene and cleanliness in the area. However, it is the garden, shacks and trees wherein the children enjoy their meals and experience closeness with nature. Birds and butterflies accompany the chatter during recess.

Sports Facility

We provide our students with plenty of opportunity to take part in a number of games and sports for their metal and physical development. We have a playground for cricket and football, besides a tennis court and a volley ball court.. The school also has athletics, yoga, carom and chess facilities in the sports zone.

Activity Hall

We have Activity Hall at all of our campuses to organize various school activities, especially performing arts. The halls are fitted with equipments that help develop the aesthetic sensitivities of our children. A play room for the nursery children is equipped with role play apparatus to ensure that they learn through the world of make-belief.

Open Air Auditorium

The school boasts of its auditorium set in midst of trees and lawns. It is one of the most favourite place of each student to perform, practice or just enjoy its ambience. It is perfect for summer camps, festival celebrations, spring galas, theatres and also assemblies.
