Nine Irish universities. Countless possibilities.

The Ireland Fair gave Riverside students from Grades 10 to 12 an opportunity to explore courses, campuses and future pathways—bringing them one step closer to informed choices.

The goal wasn’t to make big numbers smaller. It was to make big ideas easier to understand.

For their Grade 8 Maths Challenge, Riverside students explored “Scales in Real Time” by taking mathematics off the page and into the world around them.

They began with something familiar — comparing a toy car to a real car. Then came the bigger challenge: scaling the Sun and Earth using everyday objects, from gym balls and footballs to mustard seeds and peppercorns. Finally, they used that very scale to calculate the distance between the Earth and the Sun.

What emerged was more than an understanding of measurement.

Students learned to visualise the unimaginable, work confidently with large numbers, apply mathematical thinking to real contexts, and explain their reasoning through their Jury presentations to parents Mrugank and Rajvi, and Riverside alumna Vrisha.

Because when students can experience a concept, apply it and articulate their thinking, Math becomes more than a subject.

It becomes a way of making sense of the world.

We’re proud to spotlight Pooja Yadav, Class of 2014, whose journey reflects academic excellence, strategic leadership, and a passion for creating meaningful impact through effective communication and data-driven decision-making.

A graduate of The London School of Economics and Political Science, where she earned a Master of Science in Media, Development & Communication, Pooja has built a diverse and dynamic career at the intersection of strategy, operations, and healthcare management. She currently serves as the Operations & Strategy Manager for Hospital and Pharmacy Services at a Private Gynaec Hospital, where she plays a key role in driving operational efficiency and strategic growth.

We are proud of her achievements and look forward to seeing her continued success in the years ahead.
