The greatness and power of the month of Kartik for spiritual and material progress cannot be articulated. In the Skanda Purana it states, "There is no month like Kartik, no era like Satya Yuga, no scripture like the Veds, and no pilgrimage like the Ganga."

During the month of Kartik, everyone should take a bath before sunrise to alleviate sins. Planting tulsi plants and watering them is recommended. By Simply offering a full or half glass of water to a tulsi plant is equal to receiving the merit of one and one fourth kilograms of gold.

During this month, lighting a lamp in the evening is beneficial. This practice helps destroy all sins and results in the attainment of prosperity and devotion.

In the Kartik month, it is advisable to regularly listen to the stories of the Ramayana, recite the Bhagavad Gita, and chants the Lord’s name with love. Brahma Dev has said, "I do not have the power to describe the merits of this month."

Donating food and feeding cows bestows immeasurable fruit upon the devotees of God.

परिप्रश्नेन - कार्तिक मास की क्या महिमा है?
बच्चों, स्कन्द पुराण’ में आया हैः”‘कार्तिक मास के समान कोई मास नहीं, सत्ययुग के समान कोई युग नहीं, वेदों के समान कोई शास्त्र नहीं और गंगाजी के समान कोई तीर्थ नहीं है।”
कार्तिक मास में सभी को सब पापों का निवारण करने के लिए सूर्योदय से पूर्व कार्तिक-स्नान करना चाहिए।
कार्तिक में तुलसी-पौधे के रोपण, जलसिंचन करना चाहिए. तुलसी के पौधे को सुबह आधा-एक गिलास पानी देने से सवा ग्राम स्वर्णदान करने का फल मिलता है ।

स्वास्थ्य सुरक्षा : आग से शरीर का कोई अंग जल जाए तो क्या करें -
बच्चों, दीपावली के दिनों में पटाखे, दीये आदि से या अन्य दिनों में आग से शरीर का कोई अंग जल जाये तो जले हुए स्थान पर तुरंत कच्चे आलू का रस लगाना व उसके टुकड़े पीड़ित स्थान पर रखना। इससे न फोड़ा होगा न मवाद बनेगा न ही मलहम या अन्य औषधियों की आवश्यकता होगी। है ना बढ़िया उपाय?

Once sage Durvasa ji was passing through heaven when he met Devraj Indra, Indra was riding on his elephant Airavata, and sage Durvasa was on foot.
Sage Durvasa ji had a garland of divine flowers, he gifted his garland to Lord Indra.
But Lord Indra did not give importance to the sage's gift and he put the garland on his elephant Airavata.

कहानी : लक्ष्मी जी कहाँ ठहरती हैं और कहाँ से चली जाती हैं ?
एक बार ऋषि दुर्वासा की मार्ग में देवराज इंद्र से भेंट हो गई, इंद्र अपने ऐरावत हाथी पर सवार थे, और दुर्वासा मुनि पैदल थे।
ऋषि दुर्वासा जी के पास दिव्य पुष्पों की एक माला थी, उन्होंने अपनी माला देवराज इंद्र को उपहार में दे दी। देवराज इंद्र ने ऋषि के उपहार को महत्व नहीं दिया और उसने वह माला अपने ऐरावत हाथी के ऊपर डाल दी। ऐरावत ने अपनी सूंड से वह माला पकड़ी और पैरों से कुचल दी। ऋषि दुर्वासा अपने उपहार का ऐसा अपमान देखकर क्रोधित हो गए और इंद्र को श्राप दे दिया ‘कि तूने घमंड में आकर मेरे उपहार का अनादर किया है, तेरा सारा वैभव चला जाएगा और तू स्वर्गहीन हो जाएगा।‘ इसके बाद असुरों ने देवताओं पर आक्रमण कर दिया और देवता पराजित हो गए।

Kya Karen kya na karen -- दिवाली के पर्व पर क्या करें क्या न करें-
नरक चतुर्दशी (काली चौदस) के दिन सूर्योदय से पूर्व उठकर तेल-मालिश करके स्नान करना चाहिए। इससे नारकीय यातनाओं से रक्षा होती है।
काली चौदस और दीपावली की रात मंत्रजप करने से मंत्र सिद्ध होता है. इसलिए इस उत्तम समय में मंत्र जप जरूर करें।
इस रात्रि में सरसों के तेल अथवा घी के दीये से काजल बनाना चाहिए। इस काजल को आँखों में आँजने से किसी की बुरी नजर नहीं लगती तथा आँखों का तेज बढ़ता है।
