✨ The 1965 War – A Forgotten Chapter of South Asia ✨

In August 1965,
Pakistan launched Operation Gibraltar 🇵🇰, sending fighters into Kashmir to spark an uprising. But when the plan collapsed, they pushed harder with Operation Grand Slam, striking at the strategic Akhnoor bridge ⚔️ — hoping to cut India’s supply lines.

But history took a sharp turn on 6 September 1965,
India 🇮🇳, sticking to its warning, crossed the international border near Lahore. Their bold move 🎯 aimed to capture Lahore Cantonment and cut the Grand Trunk Road. The surprise entry shocked Pakistan, and soon, fierce battles erupted across Punjab and Sialkot 🔥 — with both sides suffering heavy losses.

After three intense weeks, the UN enforced a ceasefire on 23 September 🕊️. Pakistan remembers 6 September as Defence Day, honoring its resistance. Yet years later, Air Marshal Nur Khan admitted: “It was a wrong war, and the nation was misled that India provoked it.” ✍️

The war of 1965 reminds us not only of courage and sacrifice, but also of the truth behind conflict, the cost of miscalculation ⚖️, and the urgent need for peace in South Asia 🌍.
