*Excellent article by. Dr.Alok Kar*

*WAKE UP PARENTS*

Years back, *poor illiterate parents* produced
🔹Doctors,
🔹Engineers,
🔹 Scientists,
🔹 Accountants,
🔹 Lawyers,
🔹 Architects,
🔹 Professors.., whom I will refer to as *Group 'A'*.

These *Group 'A'* Children struggled on their own after Primary 6 or Grade 12, to become notable personalities. Most of them
👉🏾trekked to school *barefooted*
👉🏾went to farms
👉🏾fetched water and firewood
👉🏾cared for domesticated animals
👉🏾did some work including trading after school to survive.

Now Group 'A' ,who have now become Parents themselves are *producing Group 'B' Children*
These group B children are
🔹pampered
🔹 helped in their homeworks or home assignments from nursery school through secondary schools to higher institutions.
🔹chauffeur driven to very expensive schools or are sent abroad to study.
🔹they can watch movies from dawn to dusk after school.
🔹 they are treated like baby kings and queens.
🔹they don't do any household chores.
🔹Food is put on the table for them,
🔹their plates are removed and washed by parents or house maids.
🔹They are given expensive cars and clothes,
🔹not forgetting *big pocket money to be wasted* !!!.
🔹Their parents help them in doing their assignments.
🤔 In spite of all these, only few can *speak* or *write* correctly. 😏

🤔Group 'A' Parents cared for their own *parents* and *children*, Group 'B',their Children are still *struggling to find their feet at age 30+*.‼
🤔They find it difficult to do things on their own because they are used to being helped to think and doing things by Group 'A'. So they can't help themselves, their parents or the society. THEY ABANDON THEIR PARENTS IN THEIR BID TO ACQUIRE THE WORLD

😴 *Where do you belong*❓
🏮Reduce the pampering and the unnecessary help you offer your children.
🏮 Let your children *grow in wisdom, intelligence and strength*.
🏮Let them face the truth and the realities of life. Teach them to grow to become *independent adults.* Teach them to
👉🏾fear God,
👉🏾respect others and
👉🏾develop confidence in themselves.
🤔Parents, discipline your children to become disciplined adults.

*Summer Vacations around the corner.*

Parents are busy searching for suitable camp for the kids.

Almost 2 months break.
Art, theater, Football, basketball, robotics, dance, nature walk, cooking, painting, poured with options...

Dear parents, kindly include the following also in the list:

1. *Let kids learn to wash their plates.*

A 12 yr girl last time shocked me when I asked her to put the plate in the sink by saying _'oh sorry aunt. I did not know this is my duty. My house, either maid or ma takes it..'_

2. Every morning, make kids learn to *fold their bed-sheets and and arrange their pillows and beds*.

3. During this 2 months period, let kids learn to *eat what is cooked at home* instead of what she likes to eat.

4. Let kids *gather their friends* & go for evening walks, introduce themselves to neighbors.

5. Let kids make lemonade along with their friends after their, *outdoor play*.

6. Let kids *share* toys.
_My daughter has 2 cousins at hometown. When she is going to visit them, she is taking only one set of toys, not 3 sets._ This time she learns how to share.

7. Instead of going to big cinema halls, *gather* lil' friends, make a screen in the terrace , hire a projector and watch movie. We did this last time. Awesome experience.

8. Let kids stay with *grand parents*, uncles and aunts without parents for atleast a week.

Kids are ready to explore!! _Only parents' fear block them._ Without showing them options parents decide kids can't or don't stay without them.

9. Let kids *make* a dollhouse out of cardboard .

10. Kids can *make* kitchen utensils out of real clay.
_You never believe the *creativity* of the kids when you leave them to do by their own._

11. Let them *wake up without alarm*, let them go bed after a tiring play.

*Parents who ever have the options please leave the kids at grand parents place.* They will take better care than us.

There is definitely life beyond maths, language , science, art, craft, robotics, handwriting, Olympiads etc..

Waking them up again in the morning, getting them dressed for some classes, making them sit and do activities again... please remember *NOT ALL CLASSROOMS HAVE 4 WALLS.*

Summer vacation is not only for kids, *it's for parents* who can take time to recharge themselves for the next academic year, take care of their health and mind.

And for grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins who are eagerly waiting for these kids to come...😊

To all parents and even grandparents, as well as teachers, here are some unnbelievably simple parenting ideas that work.👇

1. Children need a minimum of eight touches during a day to feel connected to a parent.

If they’re going through a particularly challenging time, it’s a minimum of 12 a day. This doesn’t have to be a big deal; it could be the straightening of a collar, a pat on the shoulder or a simple hug.

2. Each day, children need one meaningful eye-to-eye conversation with a parent.

It is especially important for babies to have that eye contact, but children of all ages need us to slow down and look them in the eyes.

3. There are nine minutes during the day that have the greatest impact on a child:

the first three minutes right after they wake up
the three minutes after they come home from school
the last three minutes of the day before they go to bed
We need to make those moments special and help our children feel loved.
These are simple, right? Nothing really earth-shattering here.

Try it.
1⃣ Whenever u feel like scolding or beating your child, take a deep breath, or count 1-10 and then act.
2⃣ Let's ask them to study their favorite subject on their own..
3⃣ Send them to one exam without studying at all..
4⃣ Remember what our kids are learning in 5th std is taught to 7th std abroad..
5⃣ Lets keep our kids out of unwanted competition.
6⃣ 80% of what kids are learning ,won't be useful to them in future..
7⃣ Our kids can really afford to do whatever they want to do in future .
8⃣ Higher degrees don't guaranty success and happiness..
9⃣ Not all the highly educated people do well professionally.
And not all who do well professionally are the happiest ones..
🔟 Kids are always in a party mood.. don't spoil their childhood. Support and let them be what they want to be. 👍😃

Pass this on to as many teachers and parents as u can..
And change the way we look at our kids and their future.
