There is a student coming to my classes. He studies in grade 1 in a reputed school of our city. He is extremely bright and possesses good vocab as compared to the rest of his age. Till last year, i.e., Sr.kg, he was taught CVC words(likes of cat, jet, pin, pot, cut). And this year, he has a book having chapters to read!!! His mom came n asked me how to teach him to read a chapter! And now suddenly m teaching him to read paragraphs alongwith sight words... thankfully, he can read sight words and in other words, we r here to help!!! What bothers me is that though he is sharper than others, he's learner in reading as compared to the others who read paragraphs without any pauses...

So, this summer make sure that the tiny tots(aged 5 and 6 yrs) learn to read paragraphs with simple words... And don't pause other than at a fullstop!
