Lakulish Yoga University, Ahmedabad was established under Gujarat Private University Act 2009, as amended by Act No. 18 of 2013 (http://lpd.gujarat.gov.in/allpdfs/18-2013.pdf). The university is sponsored by LIFE Mission and the Founder Patron of the university is Swami Rajarshi Muni who is a siddha yogi in modern spiritual lineage of Lord Lakulish, twenty-eighth incarnation of Lord Shiva.
The University was inaugurated on 23rd May, 2013 by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Narendrabhai Modiji.
