Fine Print:

The Basic Exemption Limit (BEL) has not been raised, rather TAX REBATE has been raised from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 12500 for individual tax payers having total income up to Rs. 500,000 (raised from Existing Rs. 350,000)

This is only for those whose Total Income is below Rs. 5 Lakhs, if your income is Rs. 500,001 or anything more than that, you will not get this rebate.
