History & Vision:The history of Saraswati Vidyamandal begins with Dr.Raghubhai M.Nayak and his wife and life partner,Smt.Jashiben R.Nayak who came to saraspur,an area in the eastern sections of Ahmedabad,with a mission in their hearts and mind;"To spread the light of Education in the darkest corners of the country"That was a farewell message and blessing bestowed on Raghubhai by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore when he completed his studies in Shantiniketan for his first college degree,which he received from Gurudev Tagore in his own hand writing.They had a clear vision in their mind to establish a world class school with the highest educational standards along with incorporating excellent cultural and artistic side to their curriculum.They knew they were doing this for the poorest and most under priviledged chilren of this locality whoose parents were mostly labourers and workers at local factories.The Nayaks did this with the Guidance and inspiration from Shree Harbhai Trivedi,a dedicated Educationist of the Gandhi era who also was a reformist when it came to educational standard and practices.In this bold new mission,they were helped gratly by Seth Shantilal Mangaldas who played a leading role and contributed to the success of Saraswati Vidyamandal ,the first of the schools established by Saraswati Vidyamandal in 1944. Mission:Our mission for the schools is to develop the mind,body and spirit of the children who come to our schools for their academic life.The school symbol of the "sunflower" represents this mission and vision because the developement of child's young life consist of mind,body and spirit,which will help them achieve their goals and help their bright progress,leading them into an enlightened future.The three wavy lines in our sunflower symbol represents movements in our lives,upon which the citizens of the Saraswati Vidyamandal family(parivar) make their mind,body,and spirit grow,along with a deep feeling of belonging and the sense of a bright lamp guiding them,full of continued progress and their desire for achieving their dreams.The character building and learning of our cultural values that takes place while they are students on our campuses is exemplary. Logo of Saraswati Vidyamandal has three leaves that indicate the body,mind,soul are three important parts of life.The sunflower indicates the cravings of human being brightness and progress.The three vertical lines like the waves of water in it suggest our life.The logo has the feeling that body,mind and soul will lead the life of the path with progresss and light.
