At the gala award ceremony for the Education Excellence Awards 2012, conducted by Brands Academy, India's leading Brand Management and consulting company, DPS East Ahmedabad has been awarded the Best English Medium School in Ahmedabad.
On behalf of the school, the Principal of the school Mrs. Anita Dua and Sr. GM Calorx- Wg Cdr (retd ) JG Christian received the award from Dr. Shashi Tharoor, member of the parliament at the award ceremony which was held at Guragaon on 31st March 2012.The findings by the research company endorsed that Delhi Public school East is committed to its mission of creating a learning process where each learner empowers herself/himself to reach the optimum level of skill acquisition. The school in the last four academic years has just done that and adopted the right tools to introduce change to remain student-centric. The teachers need the skills to work one on one with different types of learners and that is indeed a challenge in a student-centric learning. By disrupting the classroom and investing in technological platforms, we have broken the fundamental obstacles which have enabled teachers to create tools for their students that have extraordinary impact. The students of DPS East are aware of the need of physical fitness and give the same importance to both whether it is a healthy body or healthy communication. To facilitate this, the school has an environment where the children are allowed to play, construct knowledge and develop the wisdom to identify the right knowledge and communicate intelligently.
Photos coming up soon!!
2nd April, 2012 marks the beginning of another new academic session at calorx pre school Ramdevnagar. I want to take the pleasure of sharing our feeling on the first day of the new session. Today as we walked into the campus we sensed the feeling of celebration and achievement in the air and we were all intrigued to explore this feeling, it had been a year since this school had started. They were many milestones that we had to achieve and move forward. As we entered we were welcomed by the sight of new children all ready to be a part of the family and were greeted by big smiles and hugs and eyes filled up with naughtiness and also the babies crying out loud scared with loneliness without the parents. At that moment all of us went into flashback of last years first day which had the same sight. We realised we had grown, our children had grown, and the relationship of trust between parents and us had grown. We were a big happy family, standing for each other making this year to begin with a bang possible. We were proud to see how our old children took the charge of making the new ones feel a part of the family and became helping hands to teachers. This was a moment that we would never forget. Thank you all for all the cooperation and Hoping for a fun filled year with loads of activities ahead.

ted.com TED Talks Adam Savage walks through two spectacular examples of profound scientific discoveries that came from simple, creative methods anyone could have followed -- Eratosthenes' calculation of the Earth's circumference around 200 BC and Hippolyte Fizeau's measurement of the speed of light in 1849....
If baby only wanted to, he could fly up to heaven this moment.
It is not for nothing that he does not leave us.
He loves to rest his head on mother's bosom, and cannot ever
bear to lose sight of her.
Baby know all manner of wise words, though few on earth can
understand their meaning.
It is not for nothing that he never wants to speak.
The one thing he wants is to learn mother's words from
mother's lips. That is why he looks so innocent.
Baby had a heap of gold and pearls, yet he came like a beggar
on to this earth.
It is not for nothing he came in such a disguise.
This dear little naked mendicant pretends to be utterly
helpless, so that he may beg for mother's wealth of love.
Baby was so free from every tie in the land of the tiny
It was not for nothing he gave up his freedom.
He knows that there is room for endless joy in mother's little
corner of a heart, and it is sweeter far than liberty to be caught
and pressed in her dear arms.
Baby never knew how to cry. He dwelt in the land of perfect
It is not for nothing he has chosen to shed tears.
Though with the smile of his dear face he draws mother's
yearning heart to him, yet his little cries over tiny troubles
weave the double bond of pity and love.
every child was given Rs 10 as a budget to shop with. They had to see the whole shop and buy the product that would give them maximum satisfaction. an educational trip to star bazaar where they learnt basic principle of economics at such an age.. moral never under estimate any learner.. and not to my surprise they all bought lays.. 100% satisfaction to every child!
Those who are responsible for creation and making flowers blossom will themselves be a different kind of flower as described in the Bhagwat Gita: "See the flower, how generously it distributes perfume and honey. It gives to all, gives freely of its love. When its work is done, it falls away quietly. Try to be like the flower, unassuming despite all its qualities". What a beautiful message, to the humanity on the purpose of life reflected the spiritual component.
Behold, it comes in might,
The power that is not power,
The light that is in darkness,
The shade in dazzling light.
It is joy that never spoke,
And grief unfelt, profound,
Immortal life unlived,
Eternal death unmourned.
It is not joy nor sorrow,
But that which is between,
It is not night nor morrow,
But that which joins them in.

A thought to ponder and share....
Friends, the earth rotates on its own axis once in a day having 24 hours or 1440 minutes or 86400 seconds. Earth itself orbits around the sun. It takes nearly one year for an orbit. With the completion of one rotation of earth around the sun, your age is added by one year as you are living on planet earth. Seconds fly, minutes fly, hours fly, days fly and years fly. We have no control over it. The only thing that we can do is, while the time flies, we can navigate the time. “Let not thy winged days, be spent in vain”.
Yes we did it again!
