હવે બોર્ડની પરીક્ષામાં ચોરી કરી તો મર્યા સમજજો: 10 વર્ષની જેલ થઈ શકે

અમદાવાદ: ગુજરાત માધ્યમિક શિક્ષણ બોર્ડ દ્વારા દર વર્ષે ધો.10 અને 12ના 12 લાખથી વધુ વિદ્યાર્થીઓની જાહેર પરીક્ષા લેવામાં આવે છે. આ પરીક્ષામાં થતા કોપીકેસ અટકાવવા અને પરીક્ષામાં પારદર્શિતા અને શુદ્ધિકરણ લાવવા બોર્ડની પરીક્ષા સમિતિએ કોપીકેસ માટેની હાલની બે વર્ષની સજા અથવા 200 રૂપિયા દંડની જોગવાઈ વધારીને 10 વર્ષની જેલ અથવા 50 હજાર રૂપિયા સુધીનો દંડ કરવાની એક દરખાસ્ત કરીને શિક્ષણ વિભાગને મોકલી આપી છે. આ દરખાસ્ત મંજૂર થયા બાદ આગામી પરીક્ષાઓમાં ચોરી કરનારા વિદ્યાર્થીને 10 વર્ષ સુધીની જેલની સજા અથવા 50 હજાર રૂપિયાનો દંડ થઈ શકે છે.
માધ્યમિક શિક્ષણ બોર્ડના વાઈસ ચેરમેન આર.આર. ઠક્કરે હતું કે, 'માધ્યમિક શિક્ષણ બોર્ડના કોપીકેસ અંગેના વર્ષો જૂના નિયમોને બદલી પરીક્ષામાં શુદ્ધિકરણ લાવવા બોર્ડે શરૂ કરેલી કવાયતના ભાગ રૂપે તાજેતરમાં મળેલી પરીક્ષા સમિતિની બેઠકમાં સર્વસંમતિથી કોપીકેસનો દંડ અને સજા વધારવા માટેની દરખાસ્ત રજૂ કરવામાં આવી હતી. જે સર્વસંમતિથી પસાર થઈ હતી.'

The kakapo is a strange little flightless bird native to New Zealand. Sadly there are now only 126 kakapo left in conservation areas, where they eat a range of plants. But researchers who have been studying ancient poo samples have recently found that around 900 years ago kakapo ate a lot of pollen from a root parasite known as "Hades flower". The two no longer exist in the same place and Hades flower is also rare, which begs the question - were the birds responsible for pollinating it? Further research needs to be done, but it's an interesting conservation link.
