In life, we face a choice: a fixed mindset that limits us or a growth mindset that empowers us. A fixed mindset believes talents and abilities are static, leading to a desire to look smart and a tendency to avoid challenges, give up easily, see effort as fruitless, ignore useful feedback, and feel threatened by others' success. On the other hand, a growth mindset thrives on challenges and sees failure not as evidence of unintelligence, but as a heartening springboard for growth and for stretching our existing abilities. Out of these two mindsets, which we manifest from a very early age, springs a great deal of our behavior, our relationship with success and failure in both professional and personal contexts, and ultimately our capacity for happiness. A growth mindset creates a powerful passion for learning. So, let's cultivate a growth mindset and embrace the journey of learning and growth.
