Academic Visit at Adani Port Special Economic Zone (APSEZ)
GLS University’s, Faculty of Commerce (GLSIC), had organized an Academic visit at Adani Port Special Economic Zone at Mundra, Gujarat. The visit was organized on August 19th, 2023 to August 20th, 2023 (Saturday – Sunday). Total number of students visited at Adani Port Special Economic Zone was fifty-four along with two faculty members.
During this visit, Day one includes the visit at Adani power plant and Adani port. The representative of Adani group was guiding and explaining about power generations and port activities. Day two includes the visit at Adani Wilmar manufacturing plant where the representative of Adani group was explaining about the how the oil is refined at Adani plant.

Art Week Celebration

The College organised the Art Week from 8th August, 2017 to 11th August, 2017 at 8:30 am in the classrooms of GLSIC college building. The students from FY, SY and TY B Com had participated in this event. It comprised the activities like- On the Spot painting, Collage, Clay Modelling, Photography, Mehandi competition, Rangoli, Cartooning and Poster making The Professor in charge of this event are- Professor Nimisha Shah and Professor Hiral Vyas.

The purpose of this Art Week was to give an exposure to undergraduate B.Com students of our Institute and bring out their creativity through various Art activities, which would help in enhancing their careers immensely.

Literary Week & Art week Celebration at Faculty of Commerce (GLSIC)
The College organised the Literary Week from 1st August, 2023 to 5th August, 2023 in the college building. The students from all semesters had participated in this event. It comprised the activities like- Group Discussion, Press Conference, Poetry Recitation, Tell a Tale, Creative Writing, Declamation and Elocution competition. The purpose of this Literary Week was to give an exposure to undergraduate B.Com students of our Institute through various literary activities and hone their communication skill, which would help in enhancing their careers immensely. Around 50 students had participated in literary week.

Teacher’s Day Celebration at GLSIC
Faculty of Commerce, GLSIC had celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5th September,2023 where in 42 students had participated and performed a role of a Teacher, Administrative Staff and Support staff. Students paid a tribute to teachers by handling the responsibility of managing lectures, class control and also by showcasing their content knowledge in class room. The celebration also comprised of students dance performance as a tribute to their teachers. Students were awarded acknowledging the best teachers, best administrative staff and also best support staff. The purpose of celebration was served as students understood their responsibilities and learnt management skill.

FOC glsic organized The inter class carrom competition on 12/08/2023. The event started at 8:00 am in the college library with more than 45 participants taking part in the competition. Knockout rounds was held among the participants in a unique manner with every players getting 9 strikes to pocket 9 coins. Players were eliminated in different knockout rounds and finally 8 players were left in the competition. Exciting Semi-finals took place and then most awaited Final match was played to give us Winners. Champions were awarded with the certificates

GLS FOC organized an Inter class Chess and Carrom Competition organised by FOC – GLSIC on the international chess day i.e. 20/07/2023 in 2 categories i.e. Boys and Girls. The event started at 8:00 AM in the college library with more than 80 participants taking part in the competition.

Knockout rounds with the time duration of 10+5 was held to determine final 8 participants in boys and 4 participants in girls. The result was decided either by the timer or by Checkmate.

Finally, after a tough competition, the results were known and winners were announced and awarded with certificates.
