GLS Performing Arts
celebrated its 3rd Annual cultural event “कलामंच” 2026 where FOPa students gave mesmerising performances in Music , Dance , Fashion & Dramatics.
The chief guest of the event was Ghazal Maestro and Veteran playback singer Shri Manhar Udhas.
The show was a culmination of year round training of performing arts students where they showcased their talent in front of huge audience comprising of chief guest, dignitaries of GLS management , parents and students….
Speaking about the show , Manhar Udhasji made a special remark on the quality of performances by our students which were better to any professional show. He also stated that a gujarati ghazal training module should be started in GLS Performing arts for which he will personally guide students and will be available for any support required…

*Kala Ratna Awards - Honouring Icons*

GLS University , Faculty of Performing Arts felicitates artist from Gujarat origin in the field of Arts & Literature through “Kala Ratna”.
In its very first edition of “KalaRatna” which was celebrated in the centennial year of GLS, Ghazal maestro and veteran playback singer Shri Manhar Udhas was honoured with KalaRatna for his outstanding contribution in the field of music and art.
In a glittering ceremony on 30th March, Shri Manhar Udhas was honoured with KalaRatna by Dr Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director GLS University.
We thank Shri Manhar Udhasji for gracefully accepting the honour and becoming the first “KalaRatna” of GLS University.
GLS Perdorming Arts students gave him a small tribute by singing his famous Gujarati & Hindi songs which made our KalaRatna very emotional during the felicitation..

GLS Performing Arts presents KalaManch -3rd Edition -
A annual cultural Extravagenza of Music - Dance - Fashion - Drama where the students of FoPA will showcase their talent in various fields , a result of year long training & practices given by our expert mentors.
Our Chief Guest for this event will be Shri Manhar Udhas, renowned singer, famous for singing Gujarati Ghazals in his velvet voice world over….
The much awaited event of FoPA will be held on 30 th March at Thakorebhai Desai hall…stay tuned 👏🏻👏🏻👍👍

FoPa Music department trains students in various forms of vocals - instruments - Digital Music Production which includes indept theory sessions along with practical training. Students gave wonderful indepth insights on these topics , individualy and in groups which is part of their syllabus and marking segment

GLS Faculty of Performing Arts Shines at Blithchron 2026, IIT Gandhinagar

Students of the Faculty of Performing Arts (FOPA), GLS University delivered an outstanding performance at Blithchron 2026, the annual cultural festival of IIT Gandhinagar. Demonstrating excellence across music, fashion, dance, and theatre, FOPA students once again proved their versatility, discipline, and strong stage presence at a prestigious national platform.

Major Achievements at Blithchron 2026:
1. Battle of Bands
• 1st Position – FOPA Band
• 2nd Position – FOPA Band
In a remarkable achievement, both FOPA bands dominated the competition with electrifying performances, powerful stage energy, and exceptional musical coordination, making the institute stand out in the music category.
2. Panache – Fashion Show
• 1st Prize – FOPA Fashion Team
The team impressed the judges with their creative concept, styling, confidence, and impactful ramp presentation.
3. Group Dance
• 2nd Prize – Theyyam-themed performance
The act was appreciated for its intensity, synchronization, and strong theatrical expression.
4. Euphony – Solo Singing
• 1st Runner-Up – Lavanya
Her soulful performance and vocal strength received great appreciation from the judges and audience.
5. Mono Act Competition
• 2nd Position – Kenil Joshi
• 3rd Position – Bhavya Gadhiya
Both performers showcased powerful characterisation, emotional depth, and impressive stage command.

These achievements reflect the dedication, talent, and all-round professional training provided at the GLS Faculty of Performing Arts.
