Introducing first course on Asli Independent Academy - "PRO COVER SINGER"
How do you go from making cover songs on youtube to make a full-time living doing live shows?
Did you know that majority of the musicians, not just in India but across the world earn most of their income via live shows?
Despite this, I've not found any good resource which teaches us how to achieve that, what should be our first step, what are the difficulties we'll face along the way and how to tackle them.
This course is my attempt to share my journey of uploading cover songs from my bedroom with minimal gear, basic music skills & lots of hardwork to figuring out how to become a full-time musician.

Meet Your Trainer - Darsh*t Nayak.
A computer engineering gold medalist who graduated in 2010, Darsh*t left his field & started working in a corporate firm related to audio-visuals to stay somewhat connected with music. He learnt music & video production on his own and kept uploading music online while doing a corporate job.
Finally in 2016, He quit his job to pursue music full-time. Since then he has worked as a music & video production freelancer, live performer, and has also created a niche in music related Youtube content creators of India.
Born in a lower middle class family, and having lost his father(Ex-Indian Army) at the age of 10 and his younger brother the very next year, there was no scope of leaving his mother alone and go to Mumbai to pursue his dream of becoming a musician. When he started out, neither the skill level was upto the mark nor there was anyone to guide, with very few genuine online resources to learn, he had to figure out a lot of things on his own. He credits his "fauji" genes which didn't let him quit during difficult times, and eventually helped him in figuring out a way to pursue music full-time while also fulfilling all the family responsibilities.
"You don't have to become a celebrity to have a successful career in music, neither do you have to choose between your family & career" - This has been his teaching philosophy on Youtube over the years which is currently a strong family of 250000 subscribers, and this website "Asli Independent Academy" is just an extension of it.

On this auspicious occasion of “Teacher’s Day”, we’re glad to launch the official website of Asli Independent Academy.
An online academy run by an independent musician for future independent musicians. This is one of a kind place where the goal is to provide solutions for all the possible problems a musician may face, from big to small, technical to financial. Things which aren't taught in traditional music schools or music production colleges will be taught here.
