“It is said in the Upanishads that mind is made up by solid food, energy by liquid food and speech by fat. This solid, liquid and fat food are divided into sixteen parts. Out of the 16 parts, 10 parts become the grossest, 5 parts the middling and 1 part is the subtlest. Through solid food, the grossest becomes faeces, the middling, flesh, and the subtlest, mind. Out of liquids, the grossest becomes urine, middling, the blood and the subtlest -life force of energy. Out of fat, the grossest becomes bone, the middling - marrow and the subtlest-speech. Thus, mind is made up of food, life force by liquid and speech by fat.
Word is knowledge, speech is expression of knowledge. In order to express, the mind is needed. So, mind is greater than speech. Will is greater than mind. Greater than will is intelligence, greater than intelligence is contemplation. Greater than contemplation is understanding; greater than understanding is strength and faith. In order to obtain strength and faith physically, morally, mentally, intellectually and spiritually, food is essential. Hence food is Brahma. Food is the key for building up character and contentment in order to realise the SELF. Hence careful thought is essential in choosing food for the evolution of the self in oneself.”

According to the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita As It Is, these four essential principles form the foundation for genuine spiritual growth. They are regulative principles—powerful tools to purify consciousness and support a deeper yoga practice.
✨ 1. No Meat, Fish, or Eggs
Rooted in ahimsa (non-violence), this principle means avoiding all forms of animal consumption—including meat, fish, and eggs. Even eggs are excluded as they are part of the cycle of life and carry subtle karmic effects.
Food influences the mind. A plant-based diet supports clarity, compassion, and inner peace—qualities essential for meditation and spiritual awareness.
✨ 2. No Intoxication
A clear mind is essential for yoga. Not consuming alcohol, drugs, and other intoxicants helps us remain present, aware, and connected to our true self.
✨ 3. No Illicit S*x
This principle encourages responsibility, respect, and conscious relationships, helping to preserve and elevate our vital energy.
✨ 4. No Gambling
Gambling creates instability and illusion. Yoga invites steadiness, integrity, and grounded awareness.
🌱 A REALISTIC PATH
It’s important to understand: you don’t have to be perfect to begin.
In today’s world, almost no one comes to yoga already established in these principles.
This is a path of development.
With time, sincere practice, and dedication, these qualities naturally grow within us. There is no need to feel discouraged if you’re not there yet.
What matters is:

• Consistency
• Honesty with yourself
Move forward step by step.
Respect your own pace.
Recognize your current level of consciousness.
Accept where you are—while continuing to grow.

🌷 BADDHA KONASANA / BOUND ANGEL POSE :
🌷 Benefits of Baddha Konasana
Though the asana looks easy by the picture, unlike other asanas, it has multiple befits to the body. Due to this asana the pelvis, abdomen ad back get ample amount of supply of blood. This activates the area that is prone to various diseases due to lack of movement and exercise.
1. Baddhakonasana thus has a great benefit to the people suffering from any sort of urinary disorder. It keeps the prostate, kidneys and urinary bladder healthy by supplying them with ample amount of blood and toning the region by removal of toxins.
2. It relieves sciatica pain and even prevents hernia.
3. Men suffering from heaviness and pain in their testicles should do this asana to ease the pain.
4. This pose is a boon for women! When the baddhakonasana is done with sarvangasana, it helps in regulating the period cycle and helps the ovaries to function normally. During pregnancy this asana is recommended to the ladies to reduce pain during delivery of the baby. It also reduces the chances of forming the varicose vein in pregnancy.
5. This asana is also good for people who want to sit long in meditation and prananyama sessions. One should make sure that he/she keeps the back erect while sitting in this asana for a longer duration.
6. Baddhakonasana can easily be done even after having meals. Sitting after eating in this pose aids digestion.
YOGI TIP: Baddhakonasana is one of the best hip openers you can practice daily. Try this while watching TV or even reading a book! One can also take a break in office to sit in this asana for just 5 minutes to relieve the tensions from the back and legs.
