🎉Today we celebrate the International Day of Mathematics!
On March 14 we celebrate the beauty, power and endless possibilities of mathematics. From the elegance of equations to the wonder of numbers, mathematics enriches our lives in countless ways.
And do you know why exactly today was chosen for this very special holiday? You will be surprised to find out the reason.
The International Day of Mathematics (IDM) is a global event celebrated every year on March 14, with themed events organized in schools, museums and libraries in many places around the world.
🤔But why March 14?
March 14 was chosen as the IDM date because many countries celebrate Pi (π) Day, denoted by the date 3.14. And this is also the approximate value of the mathematical constant Pi - 3.14.
✅Under the leadership of the International Mathematical Union and with the support of numerous international and regional organizations, the IDM project was officially recognized by UNESCO during its 40th session of the General Conference on November 26, 2019. The first IDM celebration took place on March 14 2020

⭐️5 x 5 = 25, just like the numbers in the Shulte Table! At first glance, it's just a table with scrambled numbers from 1 to 25. But Shulte is much more than that. It's a method that helps develop information processing speed and peripheral vision. What does the method itself involve? Children have to find all the numbers from 1 to 25 or in reverse order - from 25 to 1 as quickly as possible.
In SmartyKids' methodologies, we use the Shulte Table for:
✔️ Attention training;
✔️ Improving peripheral vision;
✔️ Developing quick decision-making skills.
Using the Shulte Table requires self-discipline. Furthermore, children learn to set goals, train systematically, and monitor their progress. These self-organizational skills are valuable far beyond the classroom.
