IIC Regional Meet, Ahmedabad

The regional meet was organized by MoE’s Innovation Cell and AICTE on 18/8/2022. The event was hosted by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) Ahmedabad. Our 4 Faculty members including President, Vice-president, Convenor and IP Expert of IIC Government Polytechnic Ahmedabad visited the campus of EDII at Ahmedabad for the IIC Regional Meet. The regional meet was inaugurated in the august presence of Shri. Dr. KuberDindor – Honourable MoS, Higher & Technical Education, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs, GoG. The meet consisted of 2 impact lecture sessions, postures display by IIC of various institutes and colleges of Gujarat. There were informative knowledge sharing sessions on IIC, NISP, ARIIA, IP and Technology transfer. There were many innovation stalls displayed by various start-ups ranging from the field of Bio-diversity to Recycling, from AI/ML services to EV mobility solutions etc.

Visit of Team IIC of Government Polytechnic Ahmedabad @ i-HUB and GUSEC on 6/8/2022.

The visit was organized as a part of learning experience for all team members and also to acquaint all the team members with the functioning of start-up related activities & incubation centre facilities. i-HUB is one of the few incubation centres providing 360 degree support to the budding start-ups i.e. mentoring, ideation, PoC, prototyping, IP protection, start-up registration, applying and managing of funds etc. Faculty members also visited some start-up founders and had brief discussions regarding their products and novel ideas.

IIC-GPA members also visited GUSEC (Gujarat University Startup and Entrepreneurship Council) located in the lush green campus of Gujarat University. Faculty members were shown a lab-tour of various labs and provisions provided by GUSEC for startups in their founding, incubation and funding level. They also had brief conversation with startup founders at GUSEC.

Impact Lecture Series: Session 2: Expert Talk
Our institute – Government Polytechnic Ahmedabad organized an expert lecture session as a part of its Impact Lecture Series on 30th July, 2022. In total, two expert’s lectures were organized. The topics of lecture were Importance & Impact of Intellectual Property Rights, taken by expert Mr. Amitkumar Patel; and Startup to Entrepreneurship, taken by expert Er. Niraj Shah. In total 50 participants attended the online lectures including students, faculties and GPA-IIC members.

WSRO-National Championship 2022 at Science City Ahmedabad on 30th April 2022
Our institute participated in the “World Stem and Robotics Olympiad – National Championship 2022” event organized at Science City Ahmedabad on 30th April 2022 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Our 84 students along with 2 faculties from Computer and Electronics branch participated in various events like “Robotic Competitions”, “Hands-on Robotics workshop”, “Best startup technological product showcase”, “Expert session on Robotics”, etc. of WSRO National Championship 2022. The objective of sending the student to WSRO was to aware diploma students develop their creativity and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging way.

WORLD INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DAY
The Institute’s Innovation Council (IIC) of G. P. Ahmedabad has organized the “World Intellectual Property Day” celebration on 26th April’2022 (Tuesday) by conducting two events. The first event was conducted by arranging an expert talk on “Intellectual Property Right Laws in India” at S. V. Hall of Institute at 11.30 a.m. The eminent speaker Mr. Dhruv Patel – Incubation Manager MSME, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Gandhinagar delivered nice talks about patent laws in a very simple way. Total 82 students and 7 faculties participated in the expert talk event which made the event more successful.

LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION MARCH 2022
Logo Design and tag-line Competition at Government Polytechnic Ahmedabad was organized for the students under Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of the Institute with the objectives:
(i) To prepare the students with skills like critical thinking, Design Thinking, Innovative thought process and
(ii) Entrepreneurial mindset and to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes.

Total 149 students have registered in the event and 45 students were short listed for the participation in the event. Three juries were invited from the Architecture field and three juries from Fine arts field of M.S. University. All the students were given the certificate of participation and the four (04) winners were given the rank certificate and trophy including consolation prize.

Expert Talk in association with ISHRAE
The Institute’s Innovation Council (IIC) of G. P. Ahmedabad arranged two expert talks on 21st April 2022 (Thursday) in association with the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration & Air-conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) Ahmedabad Chapter. Two eminent speakers from ISHRAE delivered an expert talk and about 80 students participated in the event. The first talk was delivered by Mr. Rohit Dave (Ex. Manager GSFC Ltd Baroda) on “Start-up Opportunity in HVAC Industry”. The Second talk was delivered by Mr. Prashant Pathak (Past President of IAC) on “Opportunity in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Refrigeration & Air-conditioning) Industry & role of ISHRAE”.
