We are glad to announce our guest speaker, Mr.Sajan Cherian , Business Unit Head, Mu Sigma Inc. He will deliver a talk on “Charting the Analytics Course: Contemporary Challenges in the Business World” to the ePGD in Advanced Business Analytics students during their campus module (ABA 23-24).

Abstract
Analytics engagements in the real world mostly pan out very differently from how they are planned at the start. This session will focus on how to stay true to focusing on outcomes that will eventually lead to delivering business impact. We will also look at how cultural aspects of the different regions can have an impact on how you do business with the customer and their perception of what works. Picking a case study of how a CPG company went about its first analytics project for a region and the challenges faced and lessons learned.

About the Speaker
Mr.Sajan Cherian has a remarkable track record in leadership, business growth, and digital transformation across international markets and industries from two decades of experience across IT and analytics. In his previous role, he was the business unit head at Mu Sigma Inc. and responsible for running the P&L for a part of the business cutting across Retail/CPG, Energy, Manufacturing and BFSI.

Prior to this, Sajan was a Principal Consultant at Thoughtworks and Head of Nordics (E&R) at Tata Consultancy Services. Sajan holds a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology and has been involved in community education initiatives and mentoring programs. His personal interests include reading, trekking, extensive travel, and adventure.

Abstract
Data analytics has a powerful role to play in helping the global fintech industry of ~$200 billion grow exponentially over the next decade. Application areas for data science and analytics range from real-time payment processing to credit scoring algorithms to microloans to financial content aggregators to investment robo-advisory.

Analytics can help drive key business areas such as: a) customer acquisition; b) credit decisioning; c) monitoring and collections; d) personalization of services for customers; e) improved risk management; f) fraud detection; and g) cost savings. Specifically, it can help fintech firms manage their entire customer lifecycle of acquisition, engagement and retention better.

FinTech companies that use big data-led insights for their segmentation strategies can also customize their product and service offerings for different customer cohorts. They can collect and decipher information about their customer’s financial activities, identify problems, target anomalies, and come up with relevant solutions.

Therefore, in the fintech industry, data analytics is not just a buzzword but a catalyst for transformative change. And to foster a conducive environment, it is imperative that companies and practitioners understand its power and leverage it to further accelerate business growth.

About the Speaker
Vijay Rajagopal has strong leadership experience of over 18 years in the financial services/fintech space, across Payments, Credit, Data, Cards, Neo-banking, etc. Vijay's expertise is across strategy, business development, enterprise sales, partnerships, and operations. He currently heads the offline payments business for Amazon Pay and leads pan-India business expansion across merchants and customers for UPI, Wallet, Buy Now Pay Later and credit card products. He previously headed strategy and operations at PayPal India.
He was the founding leader and national head of a fintech payments venture - Zeta. As Director of Fintech Strategy at Quess Corp Limited, he set up a digital platform and based on credit analytics, launched loans for over 4 lakh internal customers.
He is an advisor and mentor to multiple fintech startups like Creditwise Ltd Capital, Hyperface, Mool, DPDzero, XURITI, FinShakti etc. He has also served as a director on the boards of five companies.He is a prolific speaker and has been invited as a key speaker for various events, including Global Fintech Fest, Fintech Summit, Innovations in Payments, SMBhav Digital summit etc.

We are excited to announce that Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Director - Business Analytics at Philips, will be our guest speaker on September 17, 2023. During the campus module (ABA 22-23) for the ePGD in Advanced Business Analytics students.

Dr. Rajesh Kumar will be sharing his insights and learnings on “Role of Data & Analytics in Supply Chain Digital Transformation’”. We invite all to join us on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 11.00 a.m. to 12.15 p.m. at the PP Gupta Auditorium in New Campus.

Abstract
During Covid, organizations realized that to survive and to remain operationally competitive, they will need to adopt digital ways of working. This led to many organizations embarking on a digital transformation journey. While all kinds of organizations are going through this change, manufacturing and supply chain organizations are specifically affected by the need to remain risk-resilient, and increase speed and predictability of their supply chains. One of the key ingredients to a successful digital transformation initiative is the embedding of analytics and data science in this programme.In this talk, we will look at some of the current trends and challenges in digital supply chains and manufacturing. We will also see how data science & business analytics can play a role in addressing some of these challenges. We will go through some of the success stories and use cases to discuss key ingredients needed for success in supply chain analytics. We will conclude by talking about key skills needed by data science & analytics professionals to succeed in the manufacturing & supply chain analytics area.

About the Speaker
Dr. Rajesh Kumar is the Director for Data and analytics within Philips integrated supply chain digital center of excellence. He has 19+ years of experience spanning Healthcare, IT Services, Petrochemicals, Hi-Tech, Business Consulting, Supply Chain and Automotive Industries. He has worked previously in organizations like SCG Chemicals, DXC Technologies, HP, i2 Technologies, EY and Volvo-Eicher. He has worked in commercial client facing as well as captive analytics setups, and in roles requiring extensive international travel. He won the AI & Analytics Industry Leader Award conducted by 3AI, Bangalore. He was also given the ‘Indira Leadership Excellence Award 2023’ by the Indira Group of Institutes, Pune. His work on developing a stock-out prediction tool won the First Prize in the Innovation Tournament at Wharton Business School, USA. He has published several research papers and his work has got showcased in forums like NASSCOM, IIMA, IIMB, NITIE and IEEM conferences.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Bhopal and a Masters and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore.

He will deliver a talk on “Learnings from Deploying Analytics & AI in Enterprises” to the ePGD in Advanced Business Analytics students during their campus module (ABA 22-23).

Abstract: Analytics and AI has been evolving very rapidly over the past decade with the technology shifts that are happening. The time lag between R&D to application in solving problems has come down significantly. Given this buzz around AI, enterprises are looking at keeping pace with this evolution, leveraging Analytics & AI to solve business problems for operational efficiencies, increasing sales and creating competitive advantage. While investing in Analytics & AI, enterprises will also face various challenges ranging availability of acceptance of business, Data, Data Quality, where and how to leverage AI etc. Apart from these regulations on Data Protection and Privacy are also evolving. Given these when an AI/Analytics professional start working with an enterprise need to look beyond Problem solving.

About the Speaker: Venkata Seshu Gulibhi is a Vice President and Delivery Head of Data, Analytics & AI Practice Unit. He has been working with Infosys for about 30 years and has over 31 years of experience. He has extensive experience in Data & Analytics, Consulting, Delivery Management, Account Management, and Programme management.

He has a Master’s degree in Operations Research from Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, India and a Master’s degree in Statistics from University of Hyderabad, India. He was a toper of his class in both Institutes.
