The Sports Arena inaugurated today has such a bright and colorful look. Sports loving kids are undoubtedly going to enjoy playing their favourite sports at school
‘Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose-it teaches you about life.’
DPS-Bopal inaugurated its new sports arena on 26 September, 2017. The new ground is a superb addition to the school’s sports provision. The ground offers quality facilities for Basketball, Tennis, Skating, Volleyball, Football, Cricket, Artificial Wall Climbing, and Athletics. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Rakesh Shankar, IAS, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Central Zone. The special guest for the day was Mr. Sanjay Kaushik, GM Crown Plaza. They were escorted for a guided tour of the ground by the Sports Captains of the school.
Principal, Mr. Surender P. Sachdeva and Shri Rakesh Shankar jelled in with the spirit of the moment by joining the students in a game of Cricket. Shri Rakesh Shankar stressed on team management. He encouraged the sportspersons with a stimulating note, stating that finding good players is easy but getting them to play as a team is another story. Principal, DPS-Bopal, Mr. Surender P. Sachdeva, too, accentuated the thought that there is one thing one learns in sports and that is - not to give up.
Due respect was given to all the captains of the various teams, by introducing them to our special guest. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Sports Capains, who expressed their gratitude to the esteemed guests, management, dignitaries, Sports Department, parents, students and all volunteers and teachers involved in making this event a grand success. The event stressed on the facts that for any group activity to be successful, leadership is necessary; and the best place for children to enjoy the outdoors, learn about the natural world and take vigorous exercise on a regular basis is in the school grounds, which needs to be of the best quality and infrastructure.
Details of the New Notification issued by the CBSE Board for safety of children at schools...
“Children are spending most of their time in school, the concern of parents about the safety of school children is increasing every other day. It is a fundamental right of a child to engage and study in an environment where he or she feels safe and is free from any form of physical or emotional abuse or harassment,” the notification said.
Among the instructions issued by the CBSE were safety audits of schools done by their respective local police stations, installation of CCTV cameras at all vulnerable areas inside schools and limiting the entry of outsiders.
The CBSE asked the schools to ensure that support staff was employed only from authorised agencies and proper records are maintained. “Verification and evaluation for non-teaching staff such as, bus drivers, conductors, peon and other support staff may be done very carefully and in a detailed manner,” the directive read.
Additionally, schools were also asked to constitute separate committees for redressal of grievances of the public, staff, parents and students. Further, the board also directed the schools to constitute an internal complaints committee for complaints regarding s*xual harassment and committees under Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012. “Details of these committees along with contact details shall be displayed prominently on school notice boards and conspicuously on the school website for information of all stakeholders” said the CBSE

The FEE DEBATE !!
Good to see some parents putting up a resistance to the management decision of going ahead with fee collections without explaining the current status of the Government interventions to reduce fees. It's time we all support the ones who are leading this movement.
Inviting the parents who are actively involved and the management (if they choose to) use this group to communicate their views and explain us. Class teachers calling up parents for fee deposits is uncalled for and was never a precedent !!

*Osho on parenting*:
You will be gone
soon but the children
will be here
And nobody can
manage anybody
else's life
though they are with
you,
yet they belong
not to you
You may give them
your love
but not
your thoughts
for they have their
own thoughts
You may house their
bodies but not their
souls,
for their souls
dwell in the house of
tomorrow,
which you
cannot visit even in
your dreams
God will take care
It is none of our
business to be too concerned
Whatsoever we can
do, we do, but one
should not hanker
about things going
the way one wants
That is very egoistic
You have given birth
to a child, but once
he is out of the womb
he is free of you
First he depended for
his breath on you
when he was in the
womb
Then he will take his
own breath
You don't say
'What are you doing?
Are you trying to be
free of me? Trying to
be independent?'
You feel happy that
your child is breathing
First he will take milk
from you, then one
day he will start
eating on his own
First he will go on
clinging to your
apron and then one
day he will leave it
You will be happy
because the child is
growing, becoming
mature. Then finally
one day he falls in
love with a woman
He has found his
woman, so he will go
on his own way
Bless them, and
whatsoever happens
they have to find their
own life and their
own meaning to
life.
Now you are free.
Just try to find your
meaning, your life,
your goals, and
devote the few days
that are left to the
search of the
ultimate.
Don't be concerned
with ordinary things
I have never seen a
single parent who is
happy about their
children.
Nobody is ever
happy. Even the
father of Buddha
was not happy.
He was very very
annoyed because
his son turned out to
be a beggar. He
became a sannyasin
and the father was
hoping he would
become an emperor
He crushed all his
father's hopes
One thing is certain
-- that the child is not
here to fulfill your
expectations
The child is here with
his own destiny, and
he will unfold his
own destiny. You are
trying somehow to
direct his destiny
and that is going to
be frustrated.
So if the child
becomes a thief or a
murderer, of course
the parents feel bad,
and it looks logical.
But even if he
becomes a Jesus or
a Buddha, then too
they feel frustrated
because they have
their own ideas and
the children try to do
their own thing
Accept it and bless
them.
They have to
find their own ways
Who are we to
interfere?
And how can we?
Pray for them but
leave them on their
own. You try to grow
yourself

THE CBSE BOARD HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE THIS YEAR...
The school fees and commercialisation of text books and uniforms supplies are in a limbo, the pro-rata seats confusion, the Neet question papers and delayed results and now to top it all there have been huge totalling errors in the results declared by the board..
A Mumbai student who scored 80% and above in all his subjects, scored just 50 in maths. After verification, his marks were revised to 90.
Up to 400% gap was recorded in original and corrected totals
A CBSE official admitted that the number of applications for verification of marks has been unprecedented
Here is a small illustration of 60 samples accessed by the media.. Such errors could ruin a career !! Your comments please..
Welcome the fee restrictions brought in by the state government and the stopping off commercial activities by CBSE schools. Wondering when are they going to come into effect...

Parenting tips 2016 address one of the pressing problems parents face these days. And that is controlling their children’s exposure to media and technology. But new study reveals even parents today spend as much time on their devices as their children.
James Steyer, CEO of common sense media said children can learn so much if parents role model their behavior. A good practice would be is if the kids are around, parents must behave with their technologies as much as they want their kids to behave on theirs.
SET TIME AND PLACE TO EXCLUDE ALL MEDIA DEVICES
According to CNN, 78 percent of surveyed parents believe they’re good role models to their kids when it comes to media and technology.
Common Sense Media Director Michael Robb said the results reveal parents are not so different from their kids.
“So there’s a tension there,” Robb told CNN. Parents are worried about their children’s media and technology consumption yet spend plenty of time on their devices.
Steyer spoke to Fox News and advised that in order to curb this problem, parents must establish a time and place where devices are not allowed. These times include dinner, before bedtime, and most of all while driving.
USE MEDIA WITH KIDS AND BE ENGAGED
Steyer impressed that parents must learn from their kids. “Learn from them, ask them questions, have an ongoing conversation,” Steyer said. He also said their conversations should include even the most awkward topics to discuss such as s*x and drugs.
Steyer said there’s more from media that both parents and their children can learn from. But he also said it can only be achieved if you use it wisely.

Hurray.... TEAM DPS ARE THE INTER SCHOOL CRICKET CHAMPIONS (UNDER-19 CATEGORY)
In an exciting Final Match, Team DPS won the toss and elected to bat. The start was bit shaky with two quick losses, but the strong middle order eased the situtation with some sensible batting by Neel Jadhav (Wicket Keeper Batsman) and Ayman Siddiqui which cooled down the nerves. In came Priyank Shah later in the slog overs and helped setting up a decent score for the team, 153 runs. Priyank Shah and Neel Jadhav were the top scorers with 30 runs each for our team.
High hopes of the Nirman School came down to a Crash as they came to bat. Wickets went tumbling. Vraj Bhatt got Three wickets, Satvik and Neel got 2 wickets each and the Nirman team were all out at 99.
Neel displayed an all round performancein the match with batting, bowling and wicket keeping. He scored 30 runs, fetched two wickets and as a wicket keeper he took two catches, a stumping and was instrumental in a run out.
