In our country, majority of students don’t have a habit of reading books except for the school curriculum which only helps in escalating school grades and that’s where the problem begins. Our system expects every child to be different by giving them the same dull course books and repeating the same exams in every grade as their peers and thereby there is hardly any distinction promoted! Although, one can always go beyond the same by reading more as per his choice but does our Educational System support that? No, our educational system has taken away that element of choice which is vital for change and development in students. Thanks to our educational policies that have a provision for library enforcing every school to dedicate a room for the same but seldom any school actually creates a fruitful one and also one which does allow students to get benefit of it or encourage them to read and broaden their intellect. How can the scenario be changed? Simply by making small changes in educational system and/or promoting reading habit among students and others because the current educational system is cluelessly adding sheep to the herd and you never know when one foolish sheep may lead all to extinction. Why is it ought to be changed? What benefits will it fetch in the future? As the Holy Bible rightly points out by stating:

“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”

We greatly support the said ideology and believe that Education is the supreme donation. However, the education provided should be appropriate as per the need of the hour and suiting the interest of the person, as rightly pointed out by Albert Einstein:

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

Therefore, it is high time that certain necessary changes are made in the education system and to start with the most crucial part is to offer a variety of choice to the students by encouraging them to read beyond. This will enable them to enrich their knowledge and shape their personality rather than chasing grades. Benefits:

One is inept of enshrining all the benefits of reading as it pays back in millions of way. Moreover, the gravity of benefits also vary from person to person and to show you the tip of the iceberg:

We are a group of people who had to take the bitter pill of developing the reading habit at a later stage in life when we were forced to read for preparation of competitive exams like CAT, CMAT, CLAT, UPSC, GPSC, GSEB, etc. and now we are devouring the delicious fruits and addicted to the same in a positive manner. Although the bitter pill is greatly beneficial but we are trying to take replace the bitter taste with a delish fruit by bringing up this social cause. We will promote reading by spreading awareness among the young ones by all possible means such as collaborating with schools, educational institutions, coaching classes, etc. in our locality. By organizing competitions and providing free books to read, we will ripen their intellectual standards and increase their appetite. Resultantly we may expect a future wherein the society is lead through intellectually elegant people and the outcome will be greener society than the present. Further, we also want to expand our area of operation by focusing on the adult and old age population so that we can maximize the delivery of fruits to the society and they will pass it onto the next generations to come. Why are we seeking donation? We started out subtlety in 2019 by having few books and handing it out kids and later on by the help of dear ones who donated us from their treasure and buying a few, we had roughly around hundred books to lend. After someday we collaborated with a coaching class namely A. K. Group Tuitions and provided their students with free books. We saw that the students were reluctant to read even after providing free books as they had a lot on their plates and they failed to understand the future benefits. However, even if we try to make them understand about the benefits of the future they will bear in the present, our goal will not be achieved unless we provide them with some rewarding incentives. Therefore, we need your help broadly for the following:

- To increase our collection of books including the book set for beginners.
- To set up a library in a suitable premises along with proper furniture and fixtures
to provide students a reading space and for safekeeping of the books.
- To spread awareness by collaborating with Schools, educational institutions,
Coaching Classes, etc. and organize campaigns therein.
- To promote reading habits by free distribution of books, organizing
competitions and awarding prizes, etc. (both online and offline)
- To create an online portal to register students and provide them books through
delivery. We are confident that most of the people who has read our proposal are privileged enough to have resources at their disposal and at some point in time, either early or late in life, have realized that reading has played an important role in their development. Therefore, I will end on a note reiterating the importance of donation towards education staying:

“Anna daanam param daanam, vidya daanam atah param. annena kshanika trupthi, yaavat jeevancha vidyeya.”

Which means that donating food is the best donation; donating knowledge is the best among the best kinds of donations. Food can satisfy one's hunger for a short time, but with knowledge, one can be satisfied lifelong.
