Basant Panchami was celebrated in Heritage Institute of Hotel & Tourism, Agra with great zeal and joy. The Basant Panchami festival falls on the fifth day (Panchami) of the Hindu month of Magha. The festival is considered to mark the beginning of spring in India. Basant Panchami is considered to be an extremely auspicious day, as the devotees worship Goddess Saraswati, daughter of Goddess Durga. It is believed that goddess Saraswati, who is the goddess of knowledge and music, was born on this day. Hence we celebrate Saraswati Puja on Basant Panchami.
The program was started by the students and staff of the Heritage Institute of Hotel & Tourism with Puja Havan followed by Prasad distribution.
