Day 5 of the 6-Day Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development” at Techno College of Engineering Agartala was dedicated to industrial exposure and practical learning through an educational visit to the Monarchak 101 MW Gas Power Plant on 8th May 2026. ⚡🏭

Students of the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) & Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECSE) had the opportunity to explore the functioning and operational aspects of a modern gas-based thermal power plant. During the visit, students gained valuable insights into:

🔹 Power generation process in gas power plants
🔹 Turbine and generator operation
🔹 Control and protection systems
🔹 Electrical maintenance and safety practices
🔹 Transmission and distribution aspects of generated power

The industrial visit provided students with practical exposure to large-scale power generation systems and helped them connect classroom concepts with real industrial applications. The interactive session with plant officials also enhanced students’ understanding of modern energy infrastructure and operational challenges in the power sector. 🌱⚙️

Such industrial visits play a vital role in developing technical knowledge, professional awareness, and industry readiness among engineering students.

Day 4 of the 6-Day Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development” at Techno College of Engineering Agartala was successfully conducted on 7th May 2026 with an enriching expert session and practical demonstration on solar energy systems. ☀️⚡

The session was delivered by Er. Utpal Saha, Director of Rencare Energy Pvt. Ltd., Dhaleswar, Agartala, West Tripura. He delivered an informative lecture on Solar Rooftop Power Plant Installation, covering important aspects such as installation procedures, advantages of rooftop solar systems, system efficiency, economic benefits, and effective cost analysis.

A major highlight of the programme was the practical demonstration of solar rooftop plant installation, where students gained hands-on exposure to real-world installation techniques and operational concepts. 🔋🏡

Students from different polytechnic institutes actively participated in the session and showed great enthusiasm and interest in learning about solar power plant installation and renewable energy technologies. Their active interaction made the programme highly engaging and impactful. 🌱

At the end of the session, participation certificates were distributed among the students from various polytechnic institutes in recognition of their active involvement in the STTP programme. 🎓✨

On 6th May 2026, two accomplished alumni visited the campus to share their professional experiences and technical expertise with the students, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practices.

Technical Officer Grade-A (Manager), ESD Panisagar, delivered an insightful lecture on Three Phase Metering and Solar System Integration. His session highlighted practical aspects of electrical distribution systems, smart metering, and the growing importance of integrating renewable energy into the power network. 🌞⚙️

🔹 Er. Subham Biswas
Electrical In-Charge, ONGC Tripura, conducted an informative lecture on the E-1400 M2 RIG at ONGC Agartala. He shared valuable industrial knowledge related to rig electrical systems, operational safety, and real-time field challenges in the oil and gas sector. 🛢️🔌

The interactive sessions motivated students to gain industry-oriented knowledge and inspired them to explore emerging opportunities in the power and energy sector. Day 2 (5/5/2026) of the 6-Day Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development” at Techno College of Engineering Agartala witnessed an engaging and insightful demonstration session on innovative renewable energy technologies. 🌱⚡

Students were introduced to working prototypes that highlighted the importance of sustainable and clean energy solutions for the future:

🔹 Prototype Design of a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine – demonstrating efficient wind energy generation with compact and sustainable design concepts.

🔹 Non-Focusing Type Flat Plate Solar Collector – showcasing the practical utilization of solar thermal energy for heating applications.

🔹 Solar Thermal System of a Parabolic Dish Collector – illustrating advanced solar concentration technology for enhanced thermal energy conversion.

These prototype demonstrations successfully connected theoretical learning with practical implementation, inspiring students to explore innovative technologies that contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future. 🌍♻️

The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) & Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECSE) successfully organized a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on 25th April 2026 with the objective of strengthening communication between parents and faculty members and discussing the academic progress of students.

The meeting witnessed active participation from parents, faculty members, and students. The primary focus of the PTM was to provide a comprehensive update on students’ academic performance, attendance, behavior, and overall development. Faculty members interacted individually with parents, highlighting both strengths and areas requiring improvement.

Parents were encouraged to share their feedback, concerns, and suggestions regarding their wards’ progress and the academic environment. The interactive session helped in building mutual understanding and cooperation between parents and the institution.

The department also emphasized the importance of continuous learning, regular attendance, and active involvement in both academic and co-curricular activities. Parents appreciated the initiative taken by the department and expressed satisfaction with the efforts made by the faculty.

The PTM concluded on a positive note,
