Day 5 of the 6-Day Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development” at Techno College of Engineering Agartala was dedicated to industrial exposure and practical learning through an educational visit to the Monarchak 101 MW Gas Power Plant on 8th May 2026. ⚡🏭
Students of the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) & Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECSE) had the opportunity to explore the functioning and operational aspects of a modern gas-based thermal power plant. During the visit, students gained valuable insights into:
🔹 Power generation process in gas power plants
🔹 Turbine and generator operation
🔹 Control and protection systems
🔹 Electrical maintenance and safety practices
🔹 Transmission and distribution aspects of generated power
The industrial visit provided students with practical exposure to large-scale power generation systems and helped them connect classroom concepts with real industrial applications. The interactive session with plant officials also enhanced students’ understanding of modern energy infrastructure and operational challenges in the power sector. 🌱⚙️

Day 4 of the 6-Day Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Development” at Techno College of Engineering Agartala was successfully conducted on 7th May 2026 with an enriching expert session and practical demonstration on solar energy systems. ☀️⚡
The session was delivered by Er. Utpal Saha, Director of Rencare Energy Pvt. Ltd., Dhaleswar, Agartala, West Tripura. He delivered an informative lecture on Solar Rooftop Power Plant Installation, covering important aspects such as installation procedures, advantages of rooftop solar systems, system efficiency, economic benefits, and effective cost analysis.
A major highlight of the programme was the practical demonstration of solar rooftop plant installation, where students gained hands-on exposure to real-world installation techniques and operational concepts. 🔋🏡
Students from different polytechnic institutes actively participated in the session and showed great enthusiasm and interest in learning about solar power plant installation and renewable energy technologies. Their active interaction made the programme highly engaging and impactful. 🌱

🔹 Prototype Design of a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine – demonstrating efficient wind energy generation with compact and sustainable design concepts.
🔹 Non-Focusing Type Flat Plate Solar Collector – showcasing the practical utilization of solar thermal energy for heating applications.

The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) & Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECSE) successfully organized a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on 25th April 2026 with the objective of strengthening communication between parents and faculty members and discussing the academic progress of students.
The meeting witnessed active participation from parents, faculty members, and students. The primary focus of the PTM was to provide a comprehensive update on students’ academic performance, attendance, behavior, and overall development. Faculty members interacted individually with parents, highlighting both strengths and areas requiring improvement.
Parents were encouraged to share their feedback, concerns, and suggestions regarding their wards’ progress and the academic environment. The interactive session helped in building mutual understanding and cooperation between parents and the institution.
The department also emphasized the importance of continuous learning, regular attendance, and active involvement in both academic and co-curricular activities. Parents appreciated the initiative taken by the department and expressed satisfaction with the efforts made by the faculty.
