Boyar Dev Barman

Maharaja Bir Chandra Manikya Dev Barman Bahadur (1862–1896). His queens were Bhanumati (Meitei), Rajeswari (Meitei), and Manmohini (Meitei).

1. He was the son of King Krishna Kishore Manikya and Maharani Sulakshana Mahadevi (Sanskritized name: Sudakshina).

2. Initially, following his predecessor, he used to write only 'Dev.' However, it is also noteworthy that from his reign onwards, he began to use the surname 'Dev Barman,' which was continued by the succeeding rulers."

3. He was the best ruler among the modern rulers of Tripura (The Golden Era of Tipra and Manipuri). Also, he was the brother of King Ishan Chandra Manikya Dev Barman and father of King Radha Kishore Manikya Dev Barman (his successor). He was a polyglot, proficient in Sanskrit, Tripuri, Meiteilon, Braj, Bengali, and Urdu, and his musical talents were widely recognized and admired.

4.He abolished the Sati system, the slavery system, and the practice of untouchability in Tripura.

5.He also established a municipality, postal service, and the Bir Chandra Library for the first time in Agartala.

Maharaja Ishan Chandra Manikya Dev Bahadur (1850–1862). His queens were Muktabali (Meitei), Chandreswari (Meitei), and Jiteswari (Meitei) and Rajlakshmi (She did not bear any children to the Maharaja, whereas the other three consorts did).
