St. Paul's School, as an M.E. School, was started by New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society in 1943 with a view to teaching Tribal students belonging to the minority Christian faith of the interior villages of Tripura. The school was the first Missionary school in the kingdom. From then onw

ards until 1964 this school was run by the said society. In 1964, the general administration of the school was handed over to the Tripura Baptist Christian Union. So long the medium of instruction was Bengali. The Union with the approval and support of the N. decided to switch the school over to English Medium in 1971. The school secured affiliation from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi in the year 1982. The first batch of ICSE (Class X) students passed out in the year 1983. The school was upgraded to Class XII in the year 2002. The first batch of ISC students passed out in the year 2002. At present the school has classes from Nursery to Class XII with Humanities, Commerce and Science streams.
