🌐 Think You Know DNS? This One Record Handles Your Email. 📧

DNS does much more than turn domain names into IP addresses.
🔹 A → IPv4 address
🔹 AAAA → IPv6 address
🔹 CNAME → Alias to another hostname
🔹 MX → Specifies the mail server for a domain

Ever Wonder How a Router Knows Exactly Where to Send Your Data? 🚀

Every packet needs a destination—and the routing table helps a router decide where that packet should go. 📦
When a router receives a packet, it checks the destination IP address and compares it with the routes in its routing table. It then selects the most specific matching route using the Longest Prefix Match principle.
A routing table can contain: 🔹 Destination network
🔹 Next-hop address
🔹 Outgoing interface
🔹 Directly connected routes
🔹 Default route for destinations with no more specific match
For example, if multiple routes match a destination, the router generally prefers the route with the longest (most specific) prefix.
💡 Quick takeaway:
Destination IP → Routing Table → Best Match → Next Hop/Interface → Forward Packet
This is one of the most important concepts to understand for CCNA and network troubleshooting. 🔥
💬 Did you already know how routers make this decision?

Can You Identify the Switch Port That Carries Multiple VLANs? 🌐

Which switch port mode is designed to carry traffic for multiple VLANs?
Think carefully before answering! An access port normally carries traffic for a single VLAN, while a trunk port can carry traffic from multiple VLANs between network devices.
💬 Comment your answer: A, B, C, or D.

Never Trust, Always Verify — Why Zero Trust Matters.🔐

Zero Trust changes the traditional approach to network security. Instead of automatically trusting a user or device because of its location, access requests are continuously evaluated.
Key ideas include explicit verification, least-privilege access, continuous monitoring, micro-segmentation, and continuous verification.
The goal is to protect applications, databases, APIs, files, and cloud resources while reducing unnecessary access and limiting potential lateral movement.
Zero Trust is about verifying access—not simply assuming trust. 🌐

What Stops a Network Loop From Taking Everything Down? 🌐⚠️

Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) helps prevent Layer 2 switching loops by placing redundant paths into a blocking state while keeping an alternate path available.
🔄 Without loop prevention, redundant links can contribute to broadcast storms and unstable MAC-table behavior. STP builds a loop-free logical path while preserving redundancy.
💡 Quick takeaway: Redundant link ≠ active forwarding link. STP decides which path forwards traffic.
