It took me time to realize that you're gone.
How is it possible that I lost my strongest friend so suddenly? It pains me that you won't visit Israel this coming May. Despite having served in the IDF, you always wanted to do more for Israel by helping me serve our combat soldiers food and visiting our wounded. It was my dream for them to meet one of the strongest persons I've ever known in my life. Unfortunately your huge, sensitive heart gave out, and you simply left us all to another time and place.
I’ll always remember how you loved riding your motorcycle. In 2019 when I visited you at your home, you took me for a ride and said: “Don’t worry, I’ll lead the way." As a commander who speaks to his troops, I agreed. After that, we physically trained outside. But you warned me: "If I fall, you shouldn’t help me." That's how you were. Strong. Never wanting anyone's pity.
Dave you launched the opening of my studio in Yokneam, Israel. You were my first and most special trainee. I miss our talks so much. During the war when I called and needed encouragement from you, you always knew what to say. I recall how you wanted to meet my soldier son. Sadly after your death, I had to tell them that you won't be visiting us after all. Oh how I miss you. Rest in peace, my dear and special
