When students learn to open a text and hear it speak for itself, something steadies in them: a sense of belonging that doesn't depend on anyone else's interpretation.

That's what we're building at Kitah. Our students learn to listen to the sources themselves — in Hebrew - encountering our texts, our tradition, and our story in the original words that have carried our people for generations.

For students in grades 5-8, this year we're learning Chumash Shemot and Mishnah Berachot. Join us, where Jewish identity grows from the roots up.

Designed for middle school students, Kitah combines independent learning with live, interactive classes.

✔️ Two self-paced lessons each week in Chumash and Mishnah—studying the actual texts, not simplified summaries.

✔️ Every Sunday at 7:00 PM (Israel time), students join a live Zoom class with me and other kids their age from around the world, where the learning comes to life.

It was pretty exciting that these beautiful children recognized me from the Mishnah learning they're doing in their fifth grade class. What an experience.

Grade 5 students at Phyllis Jowell Jewish Day School in Cape Town were excited to meet Rabbi Reuven Spolter in-person during his visit to South Africa. They know him as the Rabbi on the screen presenting the Kitah Mishnah course, which is a popular part of their Kodesh curriculum. The students were beyond excited to meet him in person!

So much of the Seder depends on what mothers do—often behind the scenes.

The preparation.
The atmosphere.
The tone of the night.

But it’s more than logistics.

Mothers have a unique ability to shape how the story is felt, not just told—how children experience Yetzias Mitzrayim in a real, lasting way.
