Here is the place to learn day-to-day Israeli Hebrew, ask questions and participate in conversations in / about Hebrew. I founded UlpaNoya- My own Hebrew school, out of true passion for teaching Hebrew. One of the most common difficulties for Hebrew learners, (if not the most common one), is understanding Hebrew spoken by native speakers, and speaking like them. This is why my teaching focuses on

Israeli Hebrew- The everyday Hebrew that Israelis actually speak. In the lessons, (online), we learn and use the most updated modern Hebrew, when we converse. In order for you, as a Hebrew learner, to be able to understand native speakers better, we learn how native speakers speak. Informal contractions they use, common structures, typical changes they make in proper Hebrew when they speak, slang, pronunciation and more. A lot of this, we adopt ourselves. Why is it easier to understand a native Hebrew speaker, when you speak like one? Very often, Hebrew learners don't recognize words and phrases, used by native speakers even though they are very familiar with them. This is because of the way native speakers pronounce them. Adopting the Israeli pronunciation, will improve your listening comprehension. Another advantage to speaking like Israelis, is that you sound much more natural, blend in more easily and integrate better into Israeli society. Not to mention you are more easily understood by native speakers. Of course, we always learn the proper way of saying anything we learn, but we develop the awareness of the two different forms. The conversational Hebrew is supported by reading, writing, learning the verb system, syntax, language structure, rules and phenomena, pronunciation, watching t.v shows, listening to radio programs, using content from your personal life/work etc. The lessons are planned individually and meticulously for each student, according to their specific level, strong and weak points, needs and interests. Each lesson is linked to the previous one, and whatever you had difficulties with, gets most of the attention.
