The DAAD Heilbronn AI Fellowships

The DAAD Heilbronn AI Programme, a joint initiative of the Dieter Schwarz Foundation and the DAAD German Academic Exchange Service, aims to foster long-term international collaborations in Artificial Intelligence and strengthen connections between global AI talent and Heilbronn's thriving research and innovation landscape.

This program is now accepting applications for two exciting opportunities designed to connect outstanding international AI researchers with Heilbronn's
rapidly growing AI ecosystem:

🌐 DAAD Heilbronn AI Virtual Networking Week 2026
19-22 October 2026 | Online | 13:00 – 15:00 (Berlin, CEST, UTC+2)

This year's theme, "AI for Business and Industrial Transformation,"
will bring together international researchers and leading institutions.

Participants will learn about the programme's follow-on activities, including exclusive networking visits to Heilbronn for selected Networking Week participants, AI research tours and funded research stay fellowships (1–12 months). The programme also offers access to a growing global network of
AI researchers, fostering connections that can extend well beyond the event itself.

💡Selected participants will also have the chance to apply for a week-long networking visit to Heilbronn, Germany, with most expenses covered.
Selection is based on scientific excellence, the relevance of the applicant's research to the Heilbronn AI ecosystem, and the potential for establishing sustainable research collaborations with participating institutions.

🌐 DAAD Heilbronn AI Research Stays (1-12 months) for
international PhD candidates or postdoctoral researchers

The call for applications is also open for funded research stays in Heilbronn, Germany, offering researchers the opportunity to collaborate directly with participating institutions and become part of a unique ecosystem that combines research excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, and strong industry partnerships.

DAAD Scholarships for postgraduate studies in the field of Music 🎶🇩🇪

The scholarship offers monthly financial support while pursuing a Master’s degree or a one-year complementary course at a state-recognized Musikhochschule in Germany.

📅 Application deadline: 24 September 2026
🎓 Start of funding: October 2027

The scholarship includes:
- €992 monthly scholarship payments
- One-off travel allowance
- One-off study allowance
- Health insurance

In special cases, additional support may be available for:
- Monthly rent subsidy
- Monthly allowance for accompanying family members
- German language course (2, 4 or 6 months)

Hosting a RISE Worldwide intern allows you to strengthen your research team, support your project and connect with talented young researchers from Germany. Selected students receive a DAAD scholarship covering their living expenses and travel costs.

Call for Nominations and Self-Nominations for the German-Israeli Forum for Tomorrow's Scientists (GIFTS 2026) is now open!

On 5 November 2026, as part of Berlin Science Week, outstanding early-career researchers from Germany and Israel will come together in Berlin for a day dedicated to scientific excellence, new collaborations, and shaping the future of German-Israeli research.

Jointly organized by the German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development German Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research & Development (GIF), ScienceAbroad , and the German Rectors' Conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz), the forum offers participants the opportunity to:

🔹 Present their research to academic leaders and institutional partners
🔹 Build new interdisciplinary and international collaborations
🔹 Learn about funding opportunities, research mobility, and academic career development
🔹 Become part of a growing German-Israeli network of outstanding early-career researchers

In addition, selected participants will have the opportunity to attend the internationally renowned Falling Walls Science Summit, engaging with leading scientists, innovators, and policymakers from around the world.

The The Martin Buber Society of Fellows in the Humanities and Social Sciences awards postdoctoral fellowships each year to outstanding scholars in the humanities and social sciences who have completed their PhD at either an Israeli or German university, as well as to citizens of Israel or Germany who received their doctorates in any country. The annual Israel German Studies Conference aims to foster intellectual exchange, collaboration, and scholarly community among researchers of German Studies in Israel. Scholars at all career stages are invited to submit proposals for individual papers or organized panels.

Applications are open for HackYourDistrict 2026: AI for Liveable Neighbourhoods, a DAAD-funded Alumni Seminar taking place from 12 to 16 October 2026 at Feng Chia University in Taichung, Taiwan.

The seminar invites alumni from German universities to explore how AI-supported tools can help make urban challenges more visible, support participation and contribute to more liveable, inclusive and climate-conscious neighbourhoods.

The programme combines expert inputs, fieldwork, collaborative design, data-based analysis and interdisciplinary teamwork.

MA at the Haifa Center for German & European Studies - HCGES

This interdisciplinary program brings together multiple fields of study to offer a comprehensive understanding of Germany and Europe.

All courses are taught in English, making the program accessible to a diverse group of students with international academic interests.
