Abuselama Abu selama group is working to avoid the spread of HIV/AIDS ,and gives counseling and treatment to African asylum seekers community in Israel.

There is stigma in the community associated with having HIV/AIDS. issues such as HIV/AIDS are not openly discussed in a community setting, and African asylum seekers in Israel individuals who find out that they have HIV/AIDS will often keep this information to themselves. In rare cases,a person will refuse treatment for fear of being discovered while vising a clinic that specialized in HIV/AIDS. Some members of the community say that individuals will not be singled out for having HIV/AIDS.Often it is only at the person's death the community finds out that the person had HIV/AIDS. Our objective is to raise awareness and fight stigma in the community by giving lectures in the streets of south Tel Aviv. We also distributes condoms and pamphlets during Friday and Saturday as there are more people off work during this time.
