In her reflective piece, "Beyond the Screen: Shaping My Learning and Teaching Journey Through the Power of Technology," Hannah Angelei Fernando Pide chronicles her evolving relationship with technology and its profound impact on her educational journey and teaching aspirations.

Pide's initial encounter with technology began in sixth grade, when she received her first phone, symbolizing a step toward independence and connectivity. This early experience was further enriched during her high school years by acquiring a laptop, which became indispensable for academic tasks such as assignments, research, and projects. The laptop facilitated self-directed learning, enabling her to access information independently and manage her studies more effectively.

The advent of social media during her high school years introduced Pide to new modes of communication and self-expression. Platforms like Facebook allowed her to share experiences and connect with peers, broadening her understanding of diverse perspectives and the expansive nature of digital interactions.

As a college student, Pide's reliance on technology deepened, with digital tools becoming central to her learning process. She utilized various applications and online resources to organize assignments, access lecture materials, and engage in collaborative learning. This digital immersion enhanced her academic performance and honed her critical thinking skills, particularly in evaluating the credibility of online information.

Recognizing the potential for digital overload, Pide emphasizes maintaining a balanced approach to technology use. She advocates for intentional and purposeful engagement with digital tools to prevent distractions and ensure that technology is an aid rather than a hindrance.

Drawing from her personal experiences, Pide envisions her future role as an educator who leverages technology to create dynamic and interactive learning environments. She aspires to guide students in navigating the digital landscape responsibly, fostering adaptability, critical analysis, and practical communication skills. Her journey underscores the transformative power of technology in education and its capacity to shape both learners and educators in the digital age.
