Last week, on January 4-5, TIL’s conference on "Controlling Shareholders and Control-Enhancing Mechanisms" took place at TAU Faculty of Law. The conference’s participants discussed governance issues and policy debates concerning public companies that have a controlling shareholder, as well as the use of control-enhancing devices (such as dual-class shares, loyalty shares, and pyramidal ownership). The conference’s final panel, in collaboration with NYU Law School, gathered participants from legal academia as well as legal professionals, including the honorable judge Michal Agmon-Gonen, to discuss the restatement of corporate law.

We are thrilled to announce the publication of Volume 24.1 "Private Law Theory Meets the Law of Work". The issue aims to engage in an encompassing, multidisciplinary academic conversation on the connection between private law theory and labor law and features cutting-edge contributions by Aditi Bagchi, Hugh Collins, Hanoch Dagan & Michael Heller, Avihay Dorfman, Richard Epstein, Cynthia Estlund, Sophia Lee, Julia Tomassetti, and Sabine Tsuruda.

בשבוע הבא, בימים 5-4 בינואר 2023, יתקיים בפקולטה כנס בנושא Controlling Shareholders and Control-Enhancing Mechanisms. הכנס יתקיים בחסות הפקולטה למשפטים ע"ש בוכמן אוניברסיטת תל אביב, ו-Harvard Law School, כתב העת Theoretical Inquiries in Law ומרכז-על ע״ש צגלה למחקר בין-תחומי של המשפט. את הכנס מארגנים פרופ׳ אריה בבצ׳וק, פרופ׳ אסף חמדני, וד״ר קובי קסטיאל. הכנס יעסוק בסוגיות של ממשל תאגידי בחברות ציבוריות בעלות גרעין שליטה, וכן במנגנוני העצמת-שליטה, כגון גיוון בזכויות הצבעה, מניות נאמנות, ופירמידות שליטה. חוקרות וחוקרים מובילים מרחבי העולם יתארחו בכנס על מנת לדון בנושאים אלה.

Next week, on January 4-5, 2023, a conference on "Controlling Shareholders and Control-Enhancing Mechanism" will take place at our faculty. The conference is co-sponsored by the Buchmann Faculty of Law at Tel Aviv University and Harvard Law School, and under the auspices of Theoretical Inquiries in Law and the Cegla Center for Interdisciplinary Research of the Law. This two-day conference is aimed at exploring governance issues and policy debates concerning public companies that have a controlling shareholder as well as the use of control-enhancing devices, such as dual class, loyalty shares, and pyramidal ownership. It will bring together scholars from around the world to discuss these issues.
