The Woodman-Scheller program includes not only fascinating classes but also field trips.

Last Thursday we went looking for different urban and rural communities in the Shephelah region.

After visiting Beit Guvrin National Park, we went to the city of Beit Shemesh guided by Dr. Gili Gofer—a teacher in the program and a resident of the city. It was a beautiful opportunity to hear from one of our faculty members about her own hometown from both academic and personal points of view.

After introducing to the local street food of Beit Shemesh we went to Moshav Ahuzam guided by our Ph.D. candidate Claudia Dietrich following her research and meeting with the local farmers.

The field trip was interesting and inspiring; students and staff members all enjoyed and learned to know each other better.

סדנת מיומנויות הקריאה מיועדת לסטודנטים בינלאומיים שעברית אינה שפת אימם. מטרת הקורס היא להעניק לסטודנטים כלים ויכולות קריאה בעברית – מיומנויות בהבנת הנקרא, עקרונות הדקדוק, תחביר וכתיבה.

הסדנה תועבר לתלמידי התוכנית הבינלאומית ללימודי ישראל ע״ש וודמן־שלר במכון בן־גוריון לחקר ישראל והציונות, אוניברסיטת בן־גוריון בנגב, קמפוס שדה בוקר (מדרשת בן־גוריון).

ימי ההוראה מתקיימים בימים שני ורביעי בשעות 8:30–12:00.

התפקיד כולל:
⦿ כתיבת סילבוס ויצירת מערכי שיעור בהתאם לתוכנית דו־שנתית ולשתי רמות הוראה נדרשות
⦿ הוראת עברית
⦿ בדיקת מטלות, בחנים ומבחנים
⦿ נוכחות בבחינות פרונטאליות ומקוונות
⦿ קיום שעת קבלה לסטודנטים (על פי הצורך)
⦿ זמינות בדוא״ל ומענה בטווח זמן סביר לסטודנטים ולסגל ההוראה

דרישות התפקיד:
יש לעמוד באחת משתי הדרישות הללו לפחות:
א. תואר ראשון בלשון עברית
ב. תואר ראשון במדעי הרוח ותעודת הוראת עברית כשפה שנייה

יתרון לבעלי תואר שני בלשון עברית וניסיון בהוראה.

In this keynote lecture, Greg Thomas follows the stations of Lionel Hampton's life and career that led up to his composing "The King David Suite."
In Thomas' telling, Lionel Hampton's deep roots in the vocabulary of the black church and the American jazz tradition enabled him to musically express a deep connection to the Bible, the Jewish people and the state of Israel. In so doing, Hampton beautifully illustrated, in rhythm and tune, the meaning of the political philosophy of "rooted cosmopolitanism."
