The quote here is translated as: H-Shem desires the heart.
This saying has had a huge impact on me. G-d wants my heart? How? How could this happen? When I choose and re-choose to be grateful for all the good, this is not only possible but inevitable. How can I not love this sweetest parent who gives me breath, flowers, a chance to start again?!
Blessings to pry open hearts that have numbed to stone, unearthing the love beneath - and allowing all the Light to shine in.

This painting which I painted a few years ago, quotes the Zohar: there is no labor that is like the labor of love.
All relationships which desire to foster mutual love require work - which this teaching assumes.
The work involved with love is unlike any other, as are the deep rewards. When both people choose and Re-choose to devote themselves to the most rewarding 'job', the salary is worth more than millions of dollars.

Many times, at moments of great possibility and growth - forces come and attempt to cause us to lose it all through anger. Learning that all is essentially for the good and tools to think in a manner that promotes helpful thoughts will bring blessing in more ways than we can comprehend.

In this weeks Torah portion, VaYetzei - Yaakov embarks on a journey.
He encounters deep love with our mother Rachel and sordid trickery by her father, Lavan.
He experiences the birth of 11 of his children, the tribes of Israel.
Additionally, he finally becomes enraged by the injustice of Lavan and confronts his treachery - which, shockingly! Leads to a sort of peace between the two.
in all of our lives as humans on this earth we encounter significant challenges and the most expansive joy.
I bless you, and I bless me to persevere, to keep the vision, and to speak the truth even when your voice shakes.

"The Essence of Ahavas Yisrael lies in giving priority to one's soul rather than to his body". When we can see clearly and realize that we are in essence one with another - that our souls are all a part of the same Source, and only our bodies divide us...we can truly love another as ourselves. For, then I realize that we TRULY are connected in the most essential way.
