Students can discover a wide range of findings when they measure an ecosystem directly in the field using the einstein™ platform.

By combining the einstein™ Tablet3 Pro or the einstein™ LabMate II with built in and external sensors, students can investigate multiple environmental variables within one structured scientific activity.

They can simultaneously record conditions such as temperature, humidity and light intensity, while also measuring selected parameters including water temperature, pH, conductivity, turbidity or dissolved oxygen. This enables them to explore relationships between different environmental factors and develop a broader understanding of the ecosystem they are studying.

Fourier’s data loggers enable students to conduct experiments offline, without depending on an active internet connection. Their internal memory and built in batteries* support extended fieldwork, allowing data to be collected for several hours in natural environments. A 2026 study from the Walton Family Foundation and Gallup found that six in ten teachers already use AI in their work, yet 82% have never received any formal guidance on how to use it.

The study, called "Teaching for Tomorrow: Closing the Expectations Gap", surveyed 2,069 U.S. public school teachers about the realities of their day-to-day work.

The gap is widest exactly where AI meets learning. 57% of teachers say they receive no guidance on using AI to supplement instruction, meaning having students learn directly from an AI tool during a lesson, and 69% receive none on one-on-one instruction or tutoring.

In practice, AI is entering the classroom faster than the guidance for using it meaningfully within the learning process itself.

With Ask AInstein™, Fourier's new AI chatbot embedded in the MiLABEx software, students can ask scientific questions related to the topic they are studying without leaving the experimental environment.

In the light intensity experiment shown in the image in the post, students use the built-in light sensor of the einstein™ Tablet3 to compare the illuminance produced by different light sources, such as LEDs and fluorescent lamps.

The students can use Ask AInstein to explore how light intensity is defined, why LED and fluorescent lamps distribute light differently, how distance affects measured illuminance, or what the lux unit represents.

Ask AInstein™ provides immediate scientific explanations that help students connect the concepts they are learning with the experiment they are performing.
This creates a direct connection between measurement, scientific questioning, and interpretation, helping students move beyond recording values toward understanding what the data actually represents, and also practice AI tools in a scientific environment.

The einstein™ LabMate pairs with any Tablet, Computer, Smart Board, or Smartphone and turns them into a computerized lab.

In the attached photo, students connected the LabMate to the classroom Smart Board and performed experiments using its 8 built-in sensors: Dew Point, Heat Index, Barometric Pressure, Light, Temperature, Humidity & Heart Rate.

Additional up to 8 external sensors can also be connected simultaneously. The LabMate has an internal memory of up to 750k samples and keeps collecting and saving data even when it's disconnected from the screen device

The students managed and analyzed the data collected by the einstein™ LabMate with Fourier’s free-license to use software, the MiLABEx, with its 4 sub-apps (Lab, WorkBooks, Weather Station & Research).

The MiLABEx sub-apps also include Ask AInstein, Fourier’s built-in AI chat assistant, enabling teachers and students to chat with the AI bot directly in the application, in any language.
It provides real-time explanations, helps clarify scientific ideas, and supports students and teachers while they work through their experiments.

Heat Conduction Transfer: A Proposed Classroom Experiment.

The Fourier team has conducted an experiment to test heat conduction by stacking plastic cups to show how thicker or thinner materials affect it, using hot water and the Einstein Surface Temperature Sensor.
The einstein™ Surface Temperature Sensor is connected to the einstein™ Tablet, and the data is analyzed by the MiLABEx software in the Lab sub-app.

Students investigate the principles of thermal energy transfer by examining how the thickness of an insulating material influences the rate of heat conduction. The experiment demonstrates that heat naturally flows from regions of higher temperature to lower temperature, while increasing the thickness of the barrier slows the transfer of thermal energy. By analyzing real time temperature data, students gain a quantitative understanding of thermal resistance, insulation, and the factors that govern conductive heat transfer.

A recently published systematic review in Discover Environment analyzed 45 peer-reviewed studies published between 2018 and 2025, examining how science education contributes to climate change education (CCE) and the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action.

Key findings from research show that climate change is often inconsistently integrated into educational systems globally. It is frequently treated as a peripheral subject rather than a core component of science education, which fragments learning and limits students' ability to connect science with real-world environmental challenges

The learner-centered instructional approaches—specifically inquiry-based, project-based, and SSI-STEAM (Socio-Scientific Issues integrated with STEM) methods—are highly effective at improving conceptual understanding, critical reasoning, and student engagement.

However, the primary obstacles to effective climate education are insufficient teacher preparedness, curriculum overload, and a lack of institutional support. Many teachers lack specialized training, rely on personal interest to teach the topic, and experience emotional strain when navigating distressing climate discussions.

The einstein™ ecosystem supports climate education with real-time environmental monitoring of weather parameters through the Weather Station sub-app, the Environmental & Renewable Energy bundles and more than 60 environmental science investigations in the Workbooks sub-app.
These resources enable teachers and students to deepen their understanding and perform hands-on practice on climate crisis phenomena using scientific methods from anywhere.

At the recent Biology Teachers Conference, the Fourier team was asked to participate and demonstrate the einstein™ ecosystem, a computerized lab solution for hands-on science education, to educators and decision-makers.

The visitors explored the einstein™ products, including the einstein™ dataloggers (Tablet & LabMate), a selection of 60+ external sensors, and the functionality of the MiLABEx platform, the free license to use software, with its 4 sub apps (Lab, Workbooks, Weather Station & Research).

A key highlight was the Ask AInstein, the MiLABEx built-in AI assistant, and the new Research sub-app, which guides students through the entire scientific investigation process, from planning an experiment and defining variables to collecting real-time data, analyzing results, and generating reports within one connected environment.

The new Research Sub-App enables a seamless flow from a research question to a structured research report-in one connected workflow.

The process begins with students defining a research question, formulating a hypothesis, and identifying variables, controls, and methodology, all within a structured scientific framework.
The next step opens the Lab sub-app, where students can perform the experiment in real time using the relevant einstein™ sensors.
The experiment's data can then be analyzed, interpreted and documented while being automatically compiled into a professional research report. All mentioned above is without leaving the MiLABEx environment.

The Research sub-app is also embedded with the Ask AInstein™ chatbot to support students with contextual explanations throughout the investigation, encouraging a deeper understanding of the scientific process and related queries.

Laboratori virtual "MiLABEx" sjell risi në mësimin e shkencave - Mirëmëngjesi Kosovë 19.06.2026 07/07/2026

A pilot project with the einstein™ platform was successfully launched in Pristina, Kosovo.

Each classroom was equipped with an interactive display and by using the einstein™ Tablet/LabMate, sensors, and the MiLABEx software, it transformed into a hands-on science lab.
Teachers and students can perform real-time experiments, collect live data, and analyze results together.

The einstein™ platform supports Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, and Environmental Science curricula, enabling experiments both in the classroom and outdoors.

"This was a much-needed project for our students", said one of the teachers and the Project Coordinator. "The students quickly understood the software, and real-time experiments make science more engaging and practical", and as Nazif Gashari, the school's Principal, mentioned, "Every classroom equipped with an interactive display can now become a science laboratory. Students no longer need to move to a dedicated lab to perform experiments."
